ZimPraise

ZimPraise is an interdenominational gospel music ensemble based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The group was founded in October 2006 by Joseph Madziyire, Macdonald Chidavaenzi, and Garikai Ndanga. Joseph Madziyire also served as the group’s CEO and musical director. The ensemble is made up of Christian musicians from various denominations and backgrounds, reflecting its interdenominational mission in praise and worship ministry.

Musically, ZimPraise blends contemporary gospel with elements of Sungura, R&B, Hip Hop, and traditional Mapostori music. The group has released a series of recordings under seasonal titles, beginning with “Season 1” in 2007, followed by “Season 2” (2008), “Season 3” (2011), “Season 4” (2012), and “Season 5” (2013). They also released the album “Sungano” in 2013. Later projects include “Pentecost Season 9” (2016) and “Jesus You Have Been So Good (Season 13)” in 2022.

ZimPraise has toured internationally, performing in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and several African nations. The group has also hosted and collaborated with various gospel artists and preachers, including Bishop TD Jakes. Through their recordings and live ministry, ZimPraise continues to serve as a collective expression of Christian worship rooted in Zimbabwe’s diverse church community.
