Lebo Sekgobela

Lebo Sekgobela is a South African gospel singer and worship leader whose music ministry began in the church and grew into a commercially successful solo career. She was born on September 19, 1981, in Sebokeng, Gauteng, and first participated in music as part of tent crusades led by Evangelist T.A. Ralekholela.

Before stepping out on her own, Sekgobela worked as a backup vocalist for artists including Vicky Vilakazi and William Sejake. She launched her solo career in 2013 with the release of her debut album Ithemba Lami, followed later that same year by By His Grace (Live). Her 2016 live album Restored achieved multi-platinum status and further established her as a leading voice in South African gospel music. That same year she released the song "Lion of Judah."

Sekgobela has continued to release live-recorded albums, including Umusa (Live) in 2018, Hymns & Worship (Live) in 2019, Rebuilding Walls (Live) in 2020, and Kept by Grace (Recorded Live at Carnival City) in 2024. Her contributions to gospel music and her community have been recognized with several awards. She received the Gospel Legacy Award from the Vaal Triangle in 2010 and a Best Community Outreach award at the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards in 2012. In 2016 she was named Best Female Artist at the same awards and also received a Limpopo Arts & Culture Appreciation Award.

Sekgobela is married to Lucky Sekgobela, who also serves as her manager, and she is the mother of three children.
