The King's Heralds

The King's Heralds are a male gospel quartet known for their a cappella singing and close harmony. The group was founded in 1927 in Keene, Texas, by four college students who originally performed as the Lone Star Four. In 1936, they joined the Voice of Prophecy radio program and were renamed the King's Heralds. Since their founding, the group has maintained a rotating lineup of members.

Over the decades, the King's Heralds have recorded more than 100 albums in approximately 30 languages. Their discography includes Wake Up Church, Hymnsessions, Encores, Songs For Kids, Give the World a Smile, Our Prayer, The Golden Moment, and Song of Heaven & Homeland. The quartet has performed in more than 50 countries and was the first Western Christian gospel group to tour the People's Republic of China since 1949. In different regions, the group has been known by other names, including The Heralds, Arautos do Rei (Portuguese), and Los Heraldos del Rey (Spanish).

After a long association with the Voice of Prophecy, the King's Heralds became a self-supporting ministry in 1982. The group earned 23 Silver Angel Awards for Excellence in Media, including six awards for Best Male Vocal Group and fourteen for Best Album. In 1992, they received a Gold Angel Award recognizing them as the oldest continuous gospel quartet in America.
