About Emmy Kosgei

Emmy Kosgei is a Kenyan gospel musician and worship minister known for singing primarily in the Kalenjin language. She was born on July 22, 1980, in Kelelwa, Baringo District, Kenya, to Bishop Jackson Kosgei and Rose Kosgei. She began her professional music career in 2005 and gained national recognition when she performed her song "Taunet Nelel" during the 2010 promulgation of Kenya's New Constitution.


Over the years, Kosgei has released a number of albums and songs, including Kaswech, Ololo, Katau Banda, Sobei Cheiso, and the singles "Ategisin," "Maloo," and "Amen Hallelujah." Her contributions to gospel music have been recognized with several awards: she received a Head of State Commendation from the President of Kenya, was named Female Artist of the Year at the Groove Awards in both 2010 and 2012, and won Best International Gospel Act at the BEFFTA Awards in 2013.


Outside of music, Kosgei is a fashion entrepreneur and the owner of the Emmy K House of Fashion label. She is also the founder of Hope Academy, a school that provides education to disadvantaged children. She has served as a cultural and tourism ambassador for Kenya. She is married to Apostle Anselm Madubuko, the founder of Revival Assembly Church in Lagos, Nigeria, and serves as the church’s first lady.
