About Faith City Music
Faith City Music is a worship collective formed by gospel artist Tim Bowman Jr., based at the Spirit of Faith Christian Center in the Washington, D.C., area under the pastoral leadership of Mike and DeeDee Freeman. The group gained prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing worship encounters online, and their mission has included serving worship leaders globally by offering resources for worship. Their music weaves together gospel, R&B, and pop influences.
The collective’s first album, Welcome to Faith City, was released in 2022. The project features a range of collaborators, including Le’Andria Johnson on the single “Jesus,” Kierra Sheard and 1K Phew on “Nobody But God,” M.K. NgeNge on “Enough,” and Maranda Curtis on “Here All the Time.” Other songs in the group’s catalog include “Surrounded” and “Great Is Thy Faithfulness.”
“Jesus,” featuring Le’Andria Johnson, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart in 2023. The album Welcome to Faith City peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and earned a Stellar Award nomination for Duo/Chorus Group of the Year. In recognition of their contributions to musical worship during the pandemic, Faith City Music was inducted into the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
