Larue Howard

LaRue Howard is an American gospel musician, worship leader, and vocal coach. She was born on March 13, 1970, in Ridgeland, South Carolina. Her recording career began in 2004 with the release of the album I'm Free. She is known for her work as a worship leader at various churches, including River of Life Church in Orlando, Florida.

Howard’s 2008 album How Great Is Our God reached No. 26 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and No. 6 on the Gospel Albums chart. The title track earned her the GMA Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year in 2009. She continued to release albums including The Moment (2011), Live at the River (2014), Who Is Like Our God (2016), Defender – Live at the River II (2019), and From My Heart to Yours - Lullabies for the Worshipper's Baby. A single, Great I Am / There's No One Like You, is also part of her catalog.

Beyond her own music, Howard founded the non-profit organization Worship Leaders Association International, Inc., which focuses on equipping worship leaders. She is married to Marvette Howard, and they have three children.
