Pazeni zaburi, pigeni matari, Kinubi chenye sauti nzuri, na kinanda.
Lift up a song, strike the tambourine, play the sweet-sounding harp and lyre.

Pigeni panda mwandamo wa mwezi, Wakati wa mbalamwezi, sikukuu yetu.
Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and at the full moon on the day of our Feast.

Kwa maana ni sheria kwa Israeli, Ni hukumu ya Mungu wa Yakobo.
For this is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

Aliamuru iwe ushuhuda katika Yusufu, Alipoondoka juu ya nchi ya Misri; Maneno yake nisiyemjua naliyasikia.
He ordained it as a testimony for Joseph when he went out over the land of Egypt, where I heard an unfamiliar language:

Nimelitenga bega lake na mzigo, Mikono yake ikaachana na kikapu.

Enyi watu wangu, sikieni, nami nitawaonya, Ee Israeli, kama ukitaka kunisikiliza;
Hear, O My people, and I will warn you: O Israel, if only you would listen to Me!

Usiwe na mungu mgeni ndani yako; Wala usimsujudie mungu mwingine.
There must be no strange god among you, nor shall you bow to a foreign god.
10
Mimi ndimi Bwana, Mungu wako, Niliyekupandisha toka nchi ya Misri; Fumbua sana kinywa chako nami nitakijaza.
I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth, and I will fill it.

Lakini watu wangu hawakuisikiliza sauti yangu, Wala Israeli hawakunitaka.
But My people would not listen to Me, and Israel would not obey Me.

Nikawaacha wakaenda kwa ukaidi wa mioyo yao, Waenende katika mashauri yao.
So I gave them up to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.

Laiti watu wangu wangenisikiliza, Na Israeli angeenenda katika njia zangu;
If only My people would listen to Me, if Israel would follow My ways,
14
Ningewadhili adui zao kwa upesi, Na juu ya watesi wao ningegeuza mkono wangu;
how soon I would subdue their enemies and turn My hand against their foes!

Wamchukiao Bwana wangenyenyekea mbele zake, Bali wakati wao ungedumu milele.
Those who hate the LORD would feign obedience, and their doom would last forever.
16
Naam, ningewalisha kwa unono wa ngano, Ningewashibisha kwa asali itokayo mwambani.</p>
But I would feed you the finest wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
