Papo hapo wangalitumeza hai, Hasira yao ilipowaka juu yetu
Then they would have swallowed us up alive, When their wrath was kindled against us;
Papo hapo maji yangalitugharikisha, Mto ungalipita juu ya roho zetu;
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;
Papo hapo yangalipita juu ya nafsi zetu Maji yafurikayo.
Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.
Na ahimidiwe Bwana; Asiyetutoa kuwa mawindo kwa meno yao.
