“I will not enter my house or get into my bed,

Sitaacha macho yangu kuwa na usingizi, Wala kope zangu kusinzia;
I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,

Hata nitakapompatia Bwana mahali, Na Shujaa wa Yakobo maskani.
until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Tazama, tulisikia habari zake katika Efrata, Katika konde la Yearimu tuliiona.
We heard that the ark was in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar.

Na tuingie katika maskani yake, Tusujudu penye kiti cha kuwekea miguu yake.
Let us go to His dwelling place; let us worship at His footstool.

Ee Bwana, uinuke, uende kwenye raha yako, Wewe na sanduku la nguvu zako.
Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength.

Makuhani wako na wavikwe haki, Watauwa wako na washangilie.
May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and Your saints shout for joy.

Kwa ajili ya Daudi, mtumishi wako, Usiurudishe nyuma uso wa masihi
For the sake of Your servant David, do not reject Your anointed one.

Bwana amemwapia Daudi neno la kweli, Hatarudi nyuma akalihalifu, Baadhi ya wazao wa mwili wako Nitawaweka katika kiti chako cha enzi.
The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will place on your throne.

Wanao wakiyashika maagano yangu, Na shuhuda nitakazowafundisha; Watoto wao nao wataketi Katika kiti chako cha enzi milele.
If your sons keep My covenant and the testimony I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever and ever.”

Kwa kuwa Bwana ameichagua Sayuni, Ameitamani akae ndani yake.
For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His home:

Hapo ndipo mahali pangu pa raha milele, Hapo nitakaa kwa maana nimepatamani.
“This is My resting place forever and ever; here I will dwell, for I have desired this home.
15
Hakika nitavibariki vyakula vyake Wahitaji wake nitawashibisha chakula.
I will bless her with abundant provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16
Na makuhani wake nitawavika wokovu, Na watauwa wake watashangilia.
I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will sing out in joy.
17
Hapo nitamchipushia Daudi pembe, Na taa nimemtengenezea masihi wangu.
There I will make a horn grow for David; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed one.
18
Adui zake nitawavika aibu, Bali juu yake taji yake itasitawi.
I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown upon him will gleam.”
