Hakika Mungu ni mwema kwa Israeli, Kwa hao walio safi mioyo yao.
> Surely God is good to Israel, To those who are pure in heart.
Nami miguu yangu ilikuwa karibu na kupotoka, Hatua zangu zilikuwa karibu na kuteleza.
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped.
Maana naliwaonea wivu wenye kujivuna, Nilipoiona hali ya amani ya wasio haki.
For I was envious of the arrogant, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Maana hawana maumivu katika kufa kwao, Na mwili wao una nguvu.
For there are no struggles in their death, But their strength is firm.
Katika taabu ya watu hawamo, Wala hawapati mapigo pamoja na wanadamu.
They are free from burdens of men, Neither are they plagued like other men.
Hivyo kiburi kimekuwa mkufu shingoni mwao, Jeuri huwavika kama nguo.
Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment.
Macho yao hutokeza kwa kunenepa, Wameipita kadiri ya mawazo ya mioyo yao.
Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit.
Hudhihaki, husimulia mabaya, Husimulia udhalimu kana kwamba wako juu.
They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression.
Wameweka kinywa chao mbinguni, Na ulimi wao hutanga-tanga duniani.
They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth.
Kwa hiyo watu wake hugeuka huko, Na maji yaliyojaa humezwa nao.
Therefore their people return to them, And they drink up waters of abundance.
Nao husema, Mungu ajuaje? Yako maarifa kwake aliye juu?
They say, "How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?"
Fahamu, ndivyo walivyo wasio haki, Na kwa kustarehe sikuzote wamepata mali nyingi.
Behold, these are the wicked. Being always at ease, they increase in riches.
Hakika nimejisafisha moyo wangu bure, Nimenawa mikono yangu kwa kutokukosa.
Surely in vain I have cleansed my heart, And washed my hands in innocence,
Maana mchana kutwa nimepigwa, Na kuadhibiwa kila asubuhi.
For all day long have I been plagued, And punished every morning.
Kama ningalisema, Nitasimulia kama hayo; Kumbe! Ningaliwadanganya kizazi cha wana wako.
If I had said, "I will speak thus;" Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
Nami nalifikiri jinsi ya kufahamu hayo; Ikawa taabu machoni pangu;
When I tried to understand this, It was too painful for me;
Hata nilipoingia katika patakatifu pa Mungu, Nikautafakari mwisho wao.
Until I entered God's sanctuary, And considered their latter end.
Hakika Wewe huwaweka penye utelezi, Huwaangusha mpaka palipoharibika.
Surely you set them in slippery places. You throw them down to destruction.
Namna gani wamekuwa ukiwa mara! Wametokomea na kutoweshwa kwa utisho.
How they are suddenly destroyed! They are completely swept away with terrors.
Ee Bwana, kama ndoto wakati wa kuamka, Uondokapo utaidharau sanamu yao.
As a dream when one wakes up, So, Lord, when you awake, you will despise their fantasies.
Moyo wangu ulipoona uchungu, Viuno vyangu viliponichoma,
For my soul was grieved. I was embittered in my heart.
Nalikuwa kama mjinga, sijui neno; Nalikuwa kama mnyama tu mbele zako.
I was so senseless and ignorant. I was a brute beast before you.
Walakini mimi ni pamoja nawe daima, Umenishika mkono wa kuume.
Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
Utaniongoza kwa shauri lako, Na baadaye utanikaribisha kwa utukufu.
You will guide me with your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.

Who do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth who I desire besides you.
Mwili wangu na moyo wangu hupunguka, Bali Mungu ni mwamba wa moyo wangu Na sehemu yangu milele.
My flesh and my heart fails, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Maana wajitengao nawe watapotea; Umewaangamiza wote waliokuacha Wewe.
For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish. You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to you.
Nami kumkaribia Mungu ni kwema kwangu; Nimefanya kimbilio kwa Bwana MUNGU, Niyahubiri matendo yako yote.
But it is good for me to come close to God. I have made the Lord Yahweh my refuge, That I may tell of all your works.
