Ikawa katika mwaka wa sita, mwezi wa sita, siku ya tano ya mwezi, nilipokuwa nikikaa nyumbani mwangu, wazee wa Yuda nao wali wamekaa mbele yangu, mkono wa Bwana MUNGU ukaniangukia huko.
In the sixth year, on the fifth day of the sixth month, I was sitting in my house, and the elders of Judah were sitting before me; and there the hand of the Lord GOD fell upon me.

Ndipo nikaangalia, na tazama, kana kwamba ni mfano wa moto; tangu mfano wa viuno vyake na chini, moto; na tangu mfano wa viuno vyake na juu, kana kwamba ni mfano wa mwangaza, kama rangi ya kaharabu.
Then I looked and saw a figure like that of a man. From His waist down His appearance was like fire, and from His waist up He was as bright as the gleam of amber.

Naye akanyosha mfano wa mkono, akanishika kwa kishungi kimoja cha nywele za kichwa changu; nayo roho ikaniinua kati ya dunia na mbingu, ikanileta katika maono ya Mungu mpaka Yerusalemu, mpaka mlango wa kuingilia ua wa ndani uelekeao upande wa kaskazini; mahali palipokuwa pamewekwa sanamu ya wivu, itiayo wivu.
He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. Then the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and carried me in visions of God to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes jealousy was seated.

Na tazama, huo utukufu wa Mungu wa Israeli ulikuwapo hapo, sawasawa na maono yale niliyoyaona katika uwanda.
And there I saw the glory of the God of Israel, like the vision I had seen in the plain.

Ndipo akaniambia, Mwanadamu, inua macho yako sasa, uangalie upande wa kaskazini. Basi nikainua macho yangu, nikaangalia upande wa kaskazini, na tazama, upande wa kaskazini wa mlango, ilikuwako sanamu ile ya wivu, mahali pale pa kuingilia.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “now lift up your eyes to the north.” So I lifted up my eyes to the north, and in the entrance north of the Altar Gate I saw this idol of jealousy.

Akaniambia, Mwanadamu, je! Unayaona wanayoyafanya, yaani, haya machukizo makubwa wanayoyafanya nyumba ya Israeli hapa, hata niende zangu mbali na patakatifu pangu? Lakini utaona tena machukizo makubwa mengine.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see what they are doing—the great abominations that the house of Israel is committing—to drive Me far from My sanctuary? Yet you will see even greater abominations.”

Akanileta hata mlango wa ua; nami nilipoangalia, tazama, pana tundu katika ukuta.
Then He brought me to the entrance to the court, and I looked and saw a hole in the wall.

Ndipo akaniambia, Mwanadamu, toboa sasa katika ukuta huu; nami nilipotoboa, tazama, pana mlango.
“Son of man,” He told me, “dig through the wall.” So I dug through the wall and discovered a doorway.

Akaniambia, Ingia uyaone machukizo mabaya wanayoyafanya hapa.
Then He said to me, “Go in and see the wicked abominations they are committing here.”

Basi, nikaingia, nikaona; na tazama, kila namna ya wadudu, na wanyama wachukizao, na taswira za vinyago vyote vya nyumba ya Israeli, zimepigwa ukutani pande zote.
So I went in and looked, and engraved all around the wall was every kind of crawling creature and detestable beast, along with all the idols of the house of Israel.

Na watu sabini wa wazee wa Israeli walikuwa wamesimama na kuzielekea, na katikati yao alisimama Yaazania, mwana wa Shafani; kila mmoja ana chetezo mkononi mwake, na harufu ya moshi wa uvumba ilipaa juu.
Before them stood seventy elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.

Kisha akaniambia, Mwanadamu, umeyaona wanayotenda wazee wa nyumba ya Israeli gizani, kila mtu ndani ya vyumba vyake vya sanamu? Maana husema, Bwana hatuoni; Bwana ameiacha nchi hii.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? For they are saying, ‘The LORD does not see us; the LORD has forsaken the land.’”

Akaniambia tena, Utaona tena machukizo makubwa mengine wanayoyatenda.
Again, He told me, “You will see them committing even greater abominations.”

Ndipo akanileta mpaka mlango wa kuingilia katika nyumba ya Bwana, ulioelekea upande wa kaskazini, na tazama, wanawake wameketi wakimlilia Tamuzi.
Then He brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the house of the LORD, and I saw women sitting there, weeping for Tammuz.

Akaniambia, Mwanadamu umeyaona haya? Utaona tena machukizo makubwa kuliko hayo.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Yet you will see even greater abominations than these.”

Akanileta mpaka ua wa ndani wa nyumba ya Bwana, na tazama, mlangoni pa hekalu la Bwana, kati ya ukumbi na madhabahu, walikuwako watu kama ishirini na watano, wamelipa kisogo hekalu la Bwana, na nyuso zao zimeelekea upande wa mashariki, nao wanaliabudu jua, kwa kuuelekea upande wa mashariki.
So He brought me to the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple of the LORD, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs to the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east; and they were bowing to the east in worship of the sun.

Basi, akaniambia, Umeyaona haya, Ee mwanadamu? Je! Ni jambo dogo sana kwa nyumba ya Yuda, wayafanye machukizo wanayoyafanya hapa? Kwa maana wameijaza nchi hii udhalimu, tena wamerejea nyuma ili kunikasirisha; na, tazama, wanaliweka tawi puani.
“Son of man,” He said to me, “do you see this? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the abominations they are practicing here, that they must also fill the land with violence and continually provoke Me to anger? Look, they are even putting the branch to their nose!

Kwa sababu hiyo mimi nami nitatenda kwa ghadhabu; jicho langu halitaachilia, wala sitaona huruma, na wajapolia masikioni mwangu kwa sauti kuu, sitawasikiliza.
Therefore I will respond with wrath. I will not look on them with pity, nor will I spare them. Although they shout loudly in My ears, I will not listen to them.”
