Hezekia alikuwa na umri wa miaka ishirini na mitano alipoanza kutawala; akatawala katika Yerusalemu miaka ishirini na kenda; na jina la mamaye aliitwa Abiya binti Zekaria.
Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah.

Akafanya yaliyo ya adili machoni pa Bwana, sawasawa na yote aliyoyafanya Daudi babaye.
And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father David had done.

Yeye, katika mwaka wa kwanza wa kutawala kwake, katika mwezi wa kwanza, aliifungua milango ya nyumba ya Bwana, akaitengeneza.
In the first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah opened and repaired the doors of the house of the LORD.

Akawaingiza makuhani na Walawi, akawakusanya uwandani upande wa mashariki,
Then he brought in the priests and Levites and gathered them in the square on the east side.

akawaambia, Nisikieni, enyi Walawi; jitakaseni nafsi zenu sasa, mkaitakase na nyumba ya Bwana, Mungu wa baba zenu, mkautoe uchafu katika patakatifu.
“Listen to me, O Levites,” he said. “Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers. Remove from the Holy Place every impurity.

Kwa maana baba zetu wameasi, na kufanya yaliyo maovu machoni pa Bwana, Mungu wetu, wamemwacha, na kugeuzia mbali nyuso zao na makao ya Bwana, na kumpa maungo.
For our fathers were unfaithful and did evil in the sight of the LORD our God. They abandoned Him, turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the LORD, and turned their backs on Him.

Tena wameifunga milango ya ukumbi, na kuzizima taa, wala hawakufukiza uvumba, wala hawakumtolea Mungu wa Israeli sadaka za kuteketezwa katika patakatifu.
They also shut the doors of the portico and extinguished the lamps. They did not burn incense or present burnt offerings in the Holy Place of the God of Israel.

Kwa hiyo hasira ya Bwana imekuwa juu ya Yuda na Yerusalemu, naye amewatoa kuwa matetemeko, wawe ushangao, na mazomeo, kama mwonavyo kwa macho yenu.
Therefore, the wrath of the LORD has fallen upon Judah and Jerusalem, and He has made them an object of terror, horror, and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes.

Kwa kuwa, tazama, baba zetu wameangamia kwa upanga, na wana wetu, na binti zetu, na wake zetu wametekwa kwa ajili ya hayo.
For behold, this is why our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and daughters and wives are in captivity.

Basi nia yangu ni kufanya agano na Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, ili kwamba hasira yake kali itugeukie mbali.
Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that His fierce anger will turn away from us.

Basi wanangu, msijipurukushe sasa, kwa kuwa Bwana amewachagua ninyi msimame mbele yake, kumhudumia, nanyi mpate kuwa watumishi wake, mkafukize uvumba.
Now, my sons, do not be negligent, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, to minister before Him, and to burn incense.”

Ndipo wakaondoka Walawi, Mahathi mwana wa Amasai, na Yoeli mwana wa Azaria, wa wana wa Wakohathi; na wa wana wa Merari, Kishi mwana wa Abdi, na Azaria mwana wa Yehaleleli; na wa Wagershoni, Yoa mwana wa Zima na Edeni mwana wa Yoa;
Then the Levites set to work: Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah from the Kohathites; Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel from the Merarites; Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah from the Gershonites;

na wa wana wa Elisafani, Shimri na Yeueli; na wa wana wa Asafu, Zekaria na Matania;
Shimri and Jeuel from the Elizaphanites; Zechariah and Mattaniah from the Asaphites;

na wa wana wa Hemani, Yehueli na Shimei; na wa wana wa Yeduthuni, Shemaya na Uzieli.
Jehiel and Shimei from the Hemanites; and Shemaiah and Uzziel from the Jeduthunites.

Wakawakusanya ndugu zao, wakajitakasa, wakaingia, kama alivyoamuru mfalme kwa maneno ya Bwana, ili waisafishe nyumba ya Bwana.
When they had assembled their brothers and consecrated themselves, they went in to cleanse the house of the LORD, according to the command of the king by the words of the LORD.

Nao makuhani wakaingia nyumbani mwa Bwana, katika mahali pa ndani, ili waisafishe, wakatoa uchafu wote waliouona hekaluni mwa Bwana, wakautupa nje uani mwa nyumba ya Bwana. Walawi wakautwaa, ili wauchukue nje mpaka kijito cha Kidroni.
So the priests went inside the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and they brought out to the courtyard all the unclean things that they found in the temple of the LORD. Then the Levites took these things and carried them out to the Kidron Valley.

Basi wakaanza kutakasa siku ya kwanza ya mwezi wa kwanza, hata siku ya nane ya mwezi wakafika katika ukumbi wa Bwana; wakaitakasa nyumba ya Bwana katika muda wa siku nane; wakamaliza siku ya kumi na sita ya mwezi wa kwanza.
They began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they reached the portico of the LORD. For eight more days they consecrated the house of the LORD itself, finishing on the sixteenth day of the first month.

Wakaingia ndani kwa Hezekia mfalme, wakasema, Tumeisafisha nyumba yote ya Bwana, na madhabahu ya sadaka ya kuteketezwa, pamoja na vyombo vyake vyote, na meza ya mikate ya wonyesho, pamoja na vyombo vyake vyote.
Then they went in to King Hezekiah and reported, “We have cleansed the entire house of the LORD, the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the table of the showbread with all its utensils.

Tena vyombo vyote alivyovitupa mfalme Ahazi alipotawala, hapo alipoasi, tumevitengeza na kuvitakasa; navyo, tazama, vipo mbele ya madhabahu ya Bwana.
Moreover, we have prepared and consecrated all the articles that King Ahaz in his unfaithfulness cast aside during his reign. They are now in front of the altar of the LORD.”

Ndipo Hezekia mfalme akaamka mapema, akakusanya wakuu wa mji, akapanda nyumbani kwa Bwana.
Early the next morning King Hezekiah gathered the city officials and went up to the house of the LORD.

Wakaleta ng'ombe waume saba, na kondoo waume saba, na wana-kondoo saba, na mabeberu saba, kuwa sadaka ya dhambi kwa ajili ya ufalme, na kwa ajili ya patakatifu, na kwa ajili ya Yuda. Akaamuru makuhani, wana wa Haruni, wawatoe madhabahuni pa Bwana.
They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs, and seven male goats as a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And the king commanded the priests, the descendants of Aaron, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.

Basi wakawachinja ng'ombe, na makuhani wakaipokea damu, wakainyunyiza madhabahuni; wakawachinja kondoo waume, na kuinyunyiza damu madhabahuni; wakawachinja na wana-kondoo, na kuinyunyiza damu madhabahuni.
So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests took the blood and splattered it on the altar. They slaughtered the rams and splattered the blood on the altar. And they slaughtered the lambs and splattered the blood on the altar.

Wakawaleta karibu mabeberu wa sadaka ya dhambi mbele ya mfalme na kusanyiko; wakawawekea mikono yao;
Then they brought the goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly, who laid their hands on them.
24
na makuhani wakawachinja, wakaitoa damu yao kuwa sadaka ya dhambi madhabahuni, ili kuwafanyia Israeli wote upatanisho; maana mfalme aliamuru Israeli wote wafanyiwe sadaka ya kuteketezwa na sadaka ya dhambi.
And the priests slaughtered the goats and put their blood on the altar for a sin offering, to make atonement for all Israel, because the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel.

Akawasimamisha Walawi nyumbani mwa Bwana wenye matoazi, wenye vinanda, na wenye vinubi, kama alivyoamuru Daudi, na Gadi mwonaji wa mfalme, na Nathani nabii; kwani Bwana aliamuru hivi kwa manabii wake.
Hezekiah stationed the Levites in the house of the LORD with cymbals, harps, and lyres according to the command of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and of Nathan the prophet. For the command had come from the LORD through His prophets.

Wakasimama Walawi wenye vinanda vya Daudi, na makuhani wenye mapanda.
The Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.
27
Hezekia akaamuru kutoa sadaka ya kuteketezwa madhabahuni. Na wakati ilipoanza sadaka hiyo ya kuteketezwa, ukaanza na huo wimbo wa Bwana, na mapanda, pamoja na vinanda vya Daudi mfalme wa Israeli.
And Hezekiah ordered that the burnt offering be sacrificed on the altar. When the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD and the trumpets began as well, accompanied by the instruments of David king of Israel.

Na kusanyiko lote wakaabudu, waimbaji wakaimba, wenye mapanda wakapiga; haya yote yakaendelea hata ilipomalizika sadaka ya kuteketezwa.
The whole assembly was worshiping, the singers were singing, and the trumpeters were playing. All this continued until the burnt offering was completed.

Hata walipokwisha kutoa sadaka, mfalme, na hao wote waliokuwapo naye, wakasujudia, wakaabudu.
When the offerings were completed, the king and all those present with him bowed down and worshiped.
30
Tena Hezekia mfalme na wakuu wakawaamuru Walawi, wamwimbie Bwana sifa kwa maneno ya Daudi, na ya Asafu mwonaji. Wakaimba sifa kwa furaha, wakainama vichwa, wakaabudu.
Then King Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to sing praises to the LORD in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness and bowed down and worshiped.

Ndipo Hezekia akajibu, akasema, Sasa mmejifanya wakfu kwa Bwana, karibuni mkalete dhabihu na matoleo ya shukrani nyumbani mwa Bwana. Basi kusanyiko wakaleta dhabihu na matoleo ya shukrani; na wote wenye moyo wa ukarimu, wakaleta sadaka za kuteketezwa.
Then Hezekiah said, “Now that you have consecrated yourselves to the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the LORD.” So the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings.

Na hesabu ya sadaka hizo za kuteketezwa walizozileta kusanyiko ikawa ng'ombe waume sabini, kondoo waume mia, na wana-kondoo mia mbili; hao wote walikuwa ni sadaka ya kuteketezwa kwa Bwana.
The number of burnt offerings the assembly brought was seventy bulls, a hundred rams, and two hundred lambs; all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
33
Na vitu vitakatifu vilikuwa ng'ombe mia sita, na kondoo elfu tatu.
And the consecrated offerings were six hundred bulls and three thousand sheep.
34
Lakini makuhani walikuwa wachache, wasiweze kuchuna sadaka zote za kuteketezwa; basi ndugu zao Walawi wakawasaidia, hata ilipokwisha kazi, na hata makuhani walipojitakasa; kwa kuwa Walawi walikuwa wenye mioyo ya adili kwa kujitakasa kuliko makuhani.
However, since there were not enough priests to skin all the burnt offerings, their Levite brothers helped them until the work was finished and until the priests had consecrated themselves. For the Levites had been more diligent in consecrating themselves than the priests had been.
35
Na tena sadaka za kuteketezwa nazo zilikuwa nyingi, pamoja na mafuta ya sadaka za amani, na sadaka za kinywaji kwa kila sadaka ya kuteketezwa. Hivyo ikatengezeka huduma ya nyumba ya Bwana.
Furthermore, the burnt offerings were abundant, along with the fat of the peace offerings and the drink offerings for the burnt offerings. So the service of the house of the LORD was established.
36
Akafurahi Hezekia, na watu wote, kwa sababu ya hayo Mungu aliyowatengenezea watu; maana jambo hilo likawa kwa ghafula.
Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced at what God had prepared for the people, because everything had been accomplished so quickly.
