Basi Abiya akalala na baba zake, wakamzika mjini mwa Daudi, akatawala Asa mwanawe mahali pake; katika siku zake nchi ikastarehe miaka kumi. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:1	So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son reigned in his place. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
Basi, Asa akafanya yaliyo mema, yaliyo ya adili, machoni pa Bwana, Mungu wake; 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:2	Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of Yahweh his God:

Naye akawaambia Yuda, Na tuijenge miji hii, na kuizungushia maboma, na minara, na malango, na makomeo; nchi bado ikalipo mbele yetu, kwa kuwa tumemtafuta Bwana, Mungu wetu; naam, tumemtafuta, naye amemstarehesha pande zote. Basi wakajenga, wakafanikiwa. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:7	For he said to Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars; the land is yet before us, because we have sought Yahweh our God; we have sought him, and he has given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

Naye Asa akamlilia Bwana, Mungu wake, akasema, Bwana, hapana kuliko wewe aliye wa kusaidia, kati yake yeye aliye hodari, na yeye asiye na nguvu; utusaidie, Ee Bwana, Mungu wetu; kwa kuwa sisi twakutegemea wewe, na kwa jina lako tumekuja juu ya jamii kubwa hii. Ee Bwana, wewe ndiwe Mungu wetu, asikushinde mwanadamu. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:11	Asa cried to Yahweh his God, and said, Yahweh, there is none besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength: help us, Yahweh our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. Yahweh, you are our God; don't let man prevail against you.
Basi, Bwana akawapiga Wakushi mbele ya Asa, na mbele ya Yuda; na Wakushi wakakimbia. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:12	So Yahweh struck the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
Asa na watu waliokuwa pamoja naye wakawafuata mpaka Gerari; nao wengi wakaanguka wa Wakushi hata wasiweze kupona; kwa sababu waliangamizwa mbele za Bwana, na mbele ya jeshi lake; na hao wakachukua mateka mengi sana. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:13	Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar: and there fell of the Ethiopians so many that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before Yahweh, and before his host; and they carried away very much booty.
Wakaipiga miji yote kando-kando ya Gerari; maana hofu ya Bwana ikawajia; nao wakaiteka nyara miji yote, kwa maana zilikuwamo ndani yake nyara nyingi mno. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:14	They struck all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of Yahweh came on them: and they despoiled all the cities; for there was much spoil in them.
Wakazipiga pia hema za ng'ombe, wakachukua kondoo wengi na ngamia, wakarudi Yerusalemu. 2 Mambo ya Nyakati 14:15	They struck also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep in abundance, and camels, and returned to Jerusalem.
