Mwana mwenye hekima humfurahisha babaye; Bali mwana mpumbavu ni mzigo wa mamaye. Mithali 10:1

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father; But a foolish son brings grief to his mother.

Hazina za uovu hazifaidii kitu; Bali haki huokoa na mauti. Mithali 10:2

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death.

Bwana hataiacha nafsi ya mwenye haki ife na njaa; Bali tamaa ya mtu mwovu huisukumia mbali. Mithali 10:3

Yahweh will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked.

Atendaye mambo kwa mkono mlegevu huwa maskini; Bali mkono wake aliye na bidii hutajirisha. Mithali 10:4

He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, But the hand of the diligent brings wealth.

Akusanyaye wakati wa hari ni mwana mwenye hekima; Bali asinziaye wakati wa mavuno ni mwana mwenye kuaibisha. Mithali 10:5

He who gathers in summer is a wise son, But he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame.

Baraka humkalia mwenye haki kichwani; Bali jeuri hufunika kinywa chake mtu mwovu. Mithali 10:6

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Kuwakumbuka wenye haki huwa na baraka; Bali jina la mtu mwovu litaoza. Mithali 10:7

The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.

Aliye na akili moyoni mwake atapokea agizo; Bali mpumbavu mwenye maneno mengi ataanguka. Mithali 10:8

The wise in heart accept commandments, But a chattering fool will fall.

Aendaye kwa unyofu huenda salama; Bali apotoshaye njia zake atajulikana. Mithali 10:9

He who walks blamelessly walks surely, But he who perverts his ways will be found out.

Akonyezaye kwa jicho huleta masikitiko; Bali mpumbavu mwenye maneno mengi ataanguka. Mithali 10:10

One winking with the eye causes sorrow, But a chattering fool will fall.

Kinywa chake mwenye haki ni chemchemi ya uzima; Bali jeuri hufunika kinywa chake mtu mwovu, Mithali 10:11

The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Kuchukiana huondokesha fitina; Bali kupendana husitiri makosa yote. Mithali 10:12

Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all wrongs.

Hekima hupatikana midomoni mwa mwenye ufahamu; Bali fimbo hufaa kwa mgongo wake asiye na ufahamu. Mithali 10:13

Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding.

Watu wenye akili huweka akiba ya maarifa; Bali kinywa cha mpumbavu ni uangamivu ulio karibu. Mithali 10:14

Wise men lay up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.

Mali ya mtu tajiri ni mji wake wa nguvu; Uangamivu wa maskini ni umaskini wao. Mithali 10:15

The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

Kazi yake mwenye haki huuelekea uzima; Mazao ya wabaya huuelekea dhambi. Mithali 10:16

The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin.

Akubaliye kurudiwa huwa katika njia ya uzima; Bali yeye aachaye maonyo hukosa. Mithali 10:17

He is in the way of life who heeds correction, But he who forsakes reproof leads others astray.

Yeye afichaye chuki ana midomo ya uongo, Na yeye asingiziaye ni mpumbavu. Mithali 10:18

He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool.

Katika wingi wa maneno hapakosi kuwa na maovu; Bali yeye azuiaye midomo yake hufanya akili. Mithali 10:19

In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, But he who restrains his lips does wisely.

Ulimi wa mwenye haki ni kama fedha teule; Moyo wa mtu mbaya haufai kitu. Mithali 10:20

The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth.

Midomo ya mwenye haki hulisha watu wengi; Bali wapumbavu hufa kwa kuwa hawana ufahamu. Mithali 10:21

The lips of the righteous feed many, But the foolish die for lack of understanding.

Baraka ya Bwana hutajirisha, Wala hachanganyi huzuni nayo. Mithali 10:22

Yahweh's blessing brings wealth, And he adds no trouble to it.

Kwa mpumbavu kutenda maovu ni kama mchezo; Bali mtu mwenye ufahamu ana hekima. Mithali 10:23

It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness, But wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure.

Aogopacho mtu asiye haki ndicho kitakachomjilia; Na wenye haki watapewa matakwa yao. Mithali 10:24

What the wicked fear, will overtake them, But the desire of the righteous will be granted.

Kisulisuli kikiisha pita asiye haki hayuko tena; Bali mwenye haki ni msingi wa milele. Mithali 10:25

When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; But the righteous stand firm forever.

Kama siki menoni, na kama moshi machoni, Ndivyo alivyo mtu mvivu kwao wamtumao. Mithali 10:26

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to those who send him.

Kumcha Bwana kwaongeza siku za mtu; Bali miaka yao wasio haki itapunguzwa. Mithali 10:27

The fear of Yahweh prolongs days, But the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Matumaini yao wenye haki yatakuwa furaha; Bali kutaraji kwao wasio haki kutapotea. Mithali 10:28

The prospect of the righteous is joy, But the hope of the wicked will perish.

Njia ya Bwana ni kimbilio lake mtu mkamilifu; Bali ni uharibifu kwao watendao maovu. Mithali 10:29

The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

Mwenye haki hataondolewa milele; Bali wasio haki hawatakaa katika nchi. Mithali 10:30

The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not dwell in the land.

Kinywa cha mwenye haki hutoa hekima; Bali ulimi wa ukaidi utakatiliwa mbali. Mithali 10:31

The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut off.

Midomo ya mwenye haki huyajua yatakayokubaliwa; Bali kinywa chao wasio haki hunena ukaidi. Mithali 10:32

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
