Kisha mfalme Daudi akawaambia kusanyiko lote, Sulemani mwanangu, ambaye Mungu amemchagua peke yake, akali ni mchanga bado na mwororo, nayo kazi hii ni kubwa; kwani nyumba hii ya enzi si kwa mwanadamu, ila kwa Bwana, Mungu.
Then King David said to the whole assembly, “My son Solomon, the one whom God has chosen, is young and inexperienced. The task is great because this palace is not for man, but for the LORD God.

Basi kwa uwezo wangu wote nimeiwekea akiba nyumba ya Mungu wangu, dhahabu kwa vitu vya dhahabu, na fedha kwa vitu vya fedha, na shaba kwa vitu vya shaba, na chuma kwa vitu vya chuma, na miti kwa vitu vya miti; vito vya shohamu, na vya kujazia, vito vya njumu, na vya rangi mbalimbali, na mawe ya thamani ya kila namna, na marimari tele.
Now with all my ability I have made provision for the house of my God—gold for the gold articles, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood, as well as onyx for the settings, turquoise, stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and slabs of marble—all in abundance.

Nami tena kwa kuwa nimeiwekea nyumba ya Mungu wangu shauku yangu, nami ninayo hazina yangu mwenyewe ya dhahabu na fedha, naitoa kwa ajili ya nyumba ya Mungu wangu, zaidi ya hiyo akiba niliyoiwekea tayari nyumba takatifu;
Moreover, because of my delight in the house of my God, I now give for it my personal treasures of gold and silver, over and above all that I have provided for this holy temple:

yaani, talanta elfu tatu za dhahabu, za dhahabu ya Ofiri, na talanta elfu saba za fedha iliyosafika, ya kuzifunikiza kuta za nyumba;
three thousand talents of gold (the gold of Ophir) and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the buildings,

ya dhahabu, kwa vitu vya dhahabu, na ya fedha kwa vitu vya fedha, na kwa kazi za kila namna zitakazofanywa kwa mikono ya mafundi. Ni nani basi ajitoaye kwa moyo ili ajiweke wakfu leo kwa Bwana?
for the gold work and the silver work, and for all the work to be done by the craftsmen. Now who is willing to consecrate himself to the LORD today?”

Ndipo wakuu wa mbari za mababa, na wakuu wa kabila za Israeli, na maakida wa maelfu na wa mamia, pamoja na wasimamizi wa kazi ya mfalme, wakajitoa kwa hiari yao;
Then the leaders of the families, the officers of the tribes of Israel, the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and the officials in charge of the king’s work gave willingly.

nao wakatoa, kwa ajili ya utumishi wa nyumba ya Mungu, dhahabu talanta elfu tano, na darkoni elfu kumi,na fedha taranta elfu kumi, na shaba taranta elfu kumi na nane ,na chuma taranta elfu mia.
Toward the service of God’s house they gave 5,000 talents and 10,000 darics of gold, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze, and 100,000 talents of iron.

Na wale walioonekana kuwa na vito vya thamani wakavitoa vitiwe katika hazina ya nyumba ya Bwana, chini ya mkono wa Yehieli, Mgershoni.
Whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, under the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Ndipo hao watu wakafurahi, kwa sababu wametoa kwa hiari yao wenyewe, kwa sababu kwa ukamilifu wa moyo, kwa hiari yao wenyewe, wamemtolea Bwana; mfalme Daudi naye akafurahi kwa furaha kuu.
And the people rejoiced at the willing response of their leaders, for they had given to the LORD freely and wholeheartedly. And King David also rejoiced greatly.

Kwa hiyo Daudi akamhimidi Bwana, mbele ya mkutano wote; naye Daudi akasema, Uhimidiwe, Ee Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli baba yetu, milele na milele.
Then David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly and said: “May You be blessed, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.

Ee Bwana, ukuu ni wako, na uweza, na utukufu, na kushinda, na enzi; maana vitu vyote vilivyo mbinguni na duniani ni vyako; ufalme ni wako, Ee Bwana, nawe umetukuzwa, u mkuu juu ya vitu vyote.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth belongs to You. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all.

Utajiri na heshima hutoka kwako wewe, nawe watawala juu ya vyote; na mkononi mwako mna uweza na nguvu; tena mkononi mwako mna kuwatukuza na kuwawezesha wote.
Both riches and honor come from You, and You are the ruler over all. In Your hands are power and might to exalt and give strength to all.

Basi sasa, Mungu wetu, twakushukuru na kulisifu jina lako tukufu.
Now therefore, our God, we give You thanks, and we praise Your glorious name.
14
Lakini mimi ni nani, na watu wangu ni nani, hata tuweze kutoa kwa hiari hivi? Kwani vitu vyote vyatoka kwako na katika vitu vyako mwenyewe tumekutolea.
But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from You, and from Your own hand we have given to You.

Kwani sisi tu wageni mbele zako, na wasafiri, kama walivyokuwa baba zetu wote; ni kama kivuli siku zetu duniani, wala taraji ya kukaa hapana.
For we are foreigners and strangers in Your presence, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.

Ee Bwana, Mungu wetu, akiba hii yote tuliyoiweka, ili tukujengee nyumba kwa ajili ya jina lako takatifu, yatoka yote mkononi mwako, na yote ni yako wewe.
O LORD our God, from Your hand comes all this abundance that we have provided to build You a house for Your holy Name, and all of it belongs to You.

Nami najua, Mungu wangu, ya kuwa wewe wajaribu moyo, nawe wapendezwa na unyofu. Nami katika unyofu wa moyo wangu nimeyatoa haya yote kwa hiari yangu mwenyewe; nami sasa nimeona kwa furaha watu wako, waliopo hapa, wakikutolea kwa hiari yao.
I know, my God, that You test the heart and delight in uprightness. All these things I have given willingly and with an upright heart, and now I have seen Your people who are present here giving joyfully and willingly to You.

Ee Bwana, Mungu wa Ibrahimu, na wa Isaka, na wa Israeli, baba zetu, ulilinde jambo hili milele katika fikira za mawazo ya mioyo ya watu wako, ukaiongoze mioyo yao kwako;
O LORD, God of our fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, keep this desire forever in the intentions of the hearts of Your people, and direct their hearts toward You.

naye Sulemani mwanangu, umpe moyo mkamilifu, ili azishike amri zako, na shuhuda zako, na maagizo yako, akayatende hayo yote na kuijenga nyumba hii ya enzi, niliyoiwekea akiba.
And give my son Solomon a whole heart to keep and carry out all Your commandments, decrees, and statutes, and to build Your palace for which I have made provision.”

Ndipo Daudi akawaambia kusanyiko lote, Haya, mhimidini Bwana, Mungu wenu. Basi kusanyiko lote wakamhimidi Bwana, Mungu wa baba zao, wakainama vichwa vyao, wakamsujudia Bwana, na mfalme naye.
Then David said to the whole assembly, “Bless the LORD your God.” So the whole assembly blessed the LORD, the God of their fathers. They bowed down and paid homage to the LORD and to the king.

Wakamtolea Bwana dhabihu, wakamchinjia Bwana sadaka za kuteketezwa, siku ya pili yake, yaani, ng'ombe elfu, na kondoo waume elfu, na wana-kondoo elfu, pamoja na sadaka zao za vinywaji, na dhabihu nyingi kwa ajili ya Israeli wote;
The next day they offered sacrifices and presented burnt offerings to the LORD: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, along with their drink offerings, and other sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.

wakala na kunywa mbele za Bwana siku ile, kwa furaha kuu. Wakamtawaza Sulemani, mwana wa Daudi, mara ya pili, wakamtia mafuta mbele za Bwana, awe mkuu, na Sadoki awe kuhani.
That day they ate and drank with great joy in the presence of the LORD. Then, for a second time, they designated David’s son Solomon as king, anointing him before the LORD as ruler, and Zadok as the priest.

Ndipo Sulemani akaketi katika kiti cha enzi cha Bwana, awe mfalme badala ya Daudi babaye, akafanikiwa; nao Israeli wote wakamtii.
So Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David. He prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.
24
Nao wakuu wote, na mashujaa, na wana wote wa mfalme Daudi nao, wakajitia chini ya mfalme Sulemani.
All the officials and mighty men, as well as all of King David’s sons, pledged their allegiance to King Solomon.
25
Naye Bwana akamtukuza Sulemani mno machoni pa Israeli wote, akampa fahari ya kifalme ya kumpita mfalme awaye yote aliyekuwa kabla yake katika Israeli.
The LORD highly exalted Solomon in the sight of all Israel and bestowed on him royal majesty such as had not been bestowed on any king in Israel before him.

Basi Daudi, mwana wa Yese, akawa mfalme juu ya Israeli wote.
David son of Jesse was king over all Israel.
27
Na wakati aliotawala juu ya Israeli, ulikuwa miaka arobaini; miaka saba alitawala Hebroni, na miaka thelathini na mitatu akatawala Yerusalemu.
The length of David’s reign over Israel was forty years—seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
28
Akafa mwenye umri mwema, ameshiba siku, na mali, na heshima; naye Sulemani mwanawe akamiliki badala yake.
He died at a ripe old age, full of years, riches, and honor, and his son Solomon reigned in his place.
29
Basi habari za mfalme Daudi, mwanzo na mwisho, angalia, zimeandikwa katika tarehe ya Samweli, mwonaji, na katika tarehe ya Nathani, nabii, na katika tarehe ya Gadi, mwonaji;
Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are indeed written in the Chronicles of Samuel the Seer, the Chronicles of Nathan the Prophet, and the Chronicles of Gad the Seer,

pamoja na kutawala kwake kote na nguvu zake, nazo zamani zilizompata yeye, na Israeli, na falme zote za nchi.
together with all the details of his reign, his might, and the circumstances that came upon him and Israel and all the kingdoms of the lands.
