Tena Elihu akajibu na kusema,
Moreover Elihu answered,
Sikilizeni maneno yangu, enyi wenye hekima; Tegeni masikio kwangu, ninyi mlio na maarifa.
"Hear my words, you wise men; Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
Kwa kuwa sikio huyajaribu maneno, Kama vile kaakaa lionjavyo chakula.
For the ear tries words, As the palate tastes food.
Na tujichagulie yaliyo ya uelekevu; Na tujue wenyewe yaliyo mema.
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
Kwani Ayubu amesema, Mimi ni mwenye haki, Naye Mungu ameniondolea haki yangu;
For Job has said, 'I am righteous, God has taken away my right:
Nijapokuwa mwenye haki, nimehesabiwa kuwa mwongo; Jeraha yangu haiponyeki, nijapokuwa sina makosa.
Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar; My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.'
Je! Ni mtu gani mfano wa Ayubu, Anywaye mzaha kama maji?
What man is like Job, Who drinks scorn like water,
Atembeaye na hao watendao uovu, Na kwenda pamoja na watu wabaya.
Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, And walks with wicked men?
Kwa kuwa amenena, Haimfai mtu lo lote Kujifurahisha na Mungu.
For he has said, 'It profits a man nothing That he should delight himself with God.'
Kwa hiyo nisikilizeni, enyi wenye fahamu; Mungu asidhaniwe kutenda udhalimu; Wala Mwenyezi kufanya uovu.
"Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, From the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
Kwani atamlipa binadamu kwa kazi yake, Naye atamfanya kila mtu kuona sawasawa na njia zake
For the work of a man will he render to him, And cause every man to find according to his ways.
Naam, hakika, Mungu hatatenda mabaya, Wala Mwenyezi hatapotosha hukumu.
Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, Neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
Ni nani aliyemwagiza kuiangalia dunia? Au ni nani aliyemwekea ulimwengu huu wote?
Who gave him a charge over the earth? Or who has appointed him over the whole world?
Kama akimwekea mtu moyo wake, Akijikusanyia roho yake na pumzi zake;
If he set his heart on himself, If he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath;
Wenye mwili wote wataangamia pamoja, Nao wanadamu watarejea tena kuwa mavumbi.
All flesh would perish together, And man would turn again to dust.
Ikiwa una ufahamu, sikia neno hili; Isikilize sauti ya maneno yangu.
"If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words.
Je! Atatawala mtu aichukiaye haki hata mmoja? Nawe, je! Utamhukumia mkosa aliye na haki na mwenye nguvu?
Shall even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty?--
Je! Inafaa kumwambia mfalme, Wewe u mwovu? Au kuwaambia wakuu, Ninyi ni wabaya?
Who says to a king, 'Vile!' Or to nobles, 'Wicked!'
Sembuse huyo asiyependelea nyuso za wakuu, Wala hawajali matajiri kuliko maskini? Kwani wote ni kazi ya mikono yake,
Who doesn't respect the persons of princes, Nor regards the rich more than the poor; For they all are the work of his hands.
Hufa ghafula, hata usiku wa manane; Watu hutikisika na kwenda zao, Nao mashujaa huondolewa pasipo mkono wa mtu.
In a moment they die, even at midnight; The people are shaken and pass away, The mighty are taken away without hand.
Kwani macho yake ya juu ya njia za mtu, Naye huiona miendo yake yote.
"For his eyes are on the ways of a man, He sees all his goings.
Hapana weusi, wala hilo giza tupu, Wawezapo kujificha watendao udhalimu.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Kwani yeye hana haja ya kumfikiria mtu zaidi, ili aende mbele za Mungu ahukumiwe.
For he doesn't need to consider a man further, That he should go before God in judgment.
Yeye huwavunja-vunja mashujaa pasina kuwachunguza, Na kuwaweka wengine mahali pao.
He breaks in pieces mighty men in ways past finding out, And sets others in their place.
Kwa sababu hiyo yeye huyatafiti matendo yao; Naye huwapindia usiku, wakaangamia.
Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
Yeye huwapiga kama watu wabaya Waziwazi mbele ya macho ya wengine;
He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others;
Kwa sababu walikengeuka, wasimwandame yeye, Wasikubali kuzishika njia zake hata moja;
Because they turned aside from following him, And wouldn't have regard in any of his ways:
Hata wakafanya kilio cha maskini kumfikilia, Naye akasikia kilio cha hao wateswao.
So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, He heard the cry of the afflicted.
Akitoa utulivu yeye, ni nani awezaye kuhukumia makosa? Akificha uso wake, ni nani awezaye kumtazama? Kama hufanyiwa taifa, au mtu mmoja, ni sawasawa;
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? Alike whether to a nation, or to a man:
Kwamba huyo mpotovu asitawale, Pasiwe na wa kuwatega watu.
That the godless man may not reign, That there be no one to ensnare the people.
Kwani kuna mtu aliyemwambia Mungu, Mimi nimevumilia kurudiwa, ingawa sikukosa;
"For has any said to God, 'I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
Nisiyoyaona nifundishe wewe; Kama nimefanya uovu sitafanya tena?
Teach me that which I don't see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more'?
Je! Malipo yake yatakuwa kama upendavyo wewe, hata ukayakataa? Kwani yakupasa wewe kuchagua, si mimi; Kwa sababu hiyo sema uyajuayo.
Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
Watu walio na akili wataniambia, Naam, kila mtu mwenye hekima anisikiaye;
Men of understanding will tell me, Yes, every wise man who hears me:
Huyo Ayubu amesema pasipo maarifa, Na maneno yake hayana hekima.
'Job speaks without knowledge, His words are without wisdom.'
Laiti Ayubu angejaribiwa hata mwisho, Kwa kuwa amejibu kama watu waovu.
I wish that Job were tried to the end, Because of his answering like wicked men.
Kwani huongeza uasi juu ya dhambi zake, Apiga makofi kati yetu, Na kuongeza maneno yake kinyume cha Mungu.
For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, And multiplies his words against God."
