Kisha Bwana akanena na Musa katika bara ya Sinai, mwezi wa kwanza wa mwaka wa pili baada ya kutoka kwao katika nchi ya Misri, akamwambia,
In the first month of the second year after Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai:

Tena, wana wa Israeli na washike sikukuu ya Pasaka kwa wakati wake ulioagizwa.
“The Israelites are to observe the Passover at its appointed time.

Siku ya kumi na nne ya mwezi huu, wakati wa jioni, mtaishika kwa wakati wake ulioagizwa; kwa amri zake zote, na kama hukumu zake zote zilivyo, ndivyo mtakavyoishika.
You are to observe it at the appointed time, at twilight on the fourteenth day of this month, in accordance with its statutes and ordinances.”

Kisha Musa akawaambia wana wa Israeli kwamba waishike sikukuu hiyo ya Pasaka;
So Moses told the Israelites to observe the Passover,

Nao wakaishika Pasaka katika mwezi wa kwanza, siku ya kumi na nne ya mwezi, wakati wa jioni, katika bara ya Sinai vile vile kama hayo yote Bwana aliyomwagiza Musa, ndivyo walivyofanya wana wa Israeli.
and they did so in the Wilderness of Sinai, at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Basi walikuwako watu waume kadha wa kadha waliokuwa na unajisi kwa ajili ya maiti wa mtu, hata wasiweze kuishika Pasaka siku hiyo; nao wakaenda mbele ya Musa na Haruni, siku hiyo hao watu wakamwambia,
But there were some men who were unclean due to a dead body, so they could not observe the Passover on that day. And they came before Moses and Aaron that same day

Sisi tu hali ya unajisi kwa ajili ya maiti wa mtu; nasi tumezuiwa kwa nini hata tusipate kumtolea Bwana matoleo kwa wakati wake ulioagizwa, kati ya wana wa Israeli?
and said to Moses, “We are unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be excluded from presenting the LORD’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”

Musa akawaambia, Ngojeni hapo; hata nipate sikiza Bwana atakaloagiza juu yenu.
“Wait here until I find out what the LORD commands concerning you,” Moses replied.

Bwana akanena na Musa, akamwambia,
Then the LORD said to Moses,

Nena na wana wa Israeli, kuwaambia, Mtu wa kwenu, au wa vizazi vyenu, ye yote atakayekuwa na unajisi kwa ajili ya maiti, au akiwako mbali katika safari, na haya yote, ataishika Pasaka kwa Bwana;
“Tell the Israelites: ‘When any one of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a journey, he may still observe the Passover to the LORD.

mwezi wa pili, siku ya kumi na nne ya mwezi, wakati wa jioni, wataishika; watamla pamoja na mikate isiyotiwa chachu na mboga za uchungu;
Such people are to observe it at twilight on the fourteenth day of the second month. They are to eat the lamb, together with unleavened bread and bitter herbs;

wasisaze kitu chake cho chote hata asubuhi, wala wasimvunje mfupa wake; kama hiyo sheria yote ya Pasaka ilivyo ndivyo watakavyoishika.
they may not leave any of it until morning or break any of its bones. They must observe the Passover according to all its statutes.

Lakini mtu aliye safi, wala hakuwa katika safari, naye amekosa kuishika Pasaka, mtu huyo atakatiliwa mbali na watu wake; kwa sababu hakumtolea Bwana matoleo kwa wakati wake ulioamriwa, mtu huyo atachukua dhambi yake.
But if a man who is ceremonially clean and is not on a journey still fails to observe the Passover, he must be cut off from his people, because he did not present the LORD’s offering at its appointed time. That man will bear the consequences of his sin.

Na kama mgeni akiketi kati yenu ugenini, naye ataka kuishika Pasaka kwa Bwana; kama hiyo sheria ya Pasaka ilivyo, na kama amri yake ilivyo, ndivyo atakavyofanya; mtakuwa na sheria moja, kwa huyo aliye mgeni, na kwa huyo aliyezaliwa katika nchi.
If a foreigner dwelling among you wants to observe the Passover to the LORD, he is to do so according to the Passover statute and its ordinances. You are to apply the same statute to both the foreigner and the native of the land.’”

Na siku hiyo maskani iliposimamishwa, lile wingu likaifunika maskani, yaani, hema ya kukutania; wakati wa jioni likawa juu ya maskani, mfano wa moto, hata asubuhi.
On the day that the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it and appeared like fire above the tabernacle from evening until morning.

Ndivyo ilivyokuwa sikuzote; lile wingu liliifunika kwa mfano wa moto usiku.
It remained that way continually; the cloud would cover the tabernacle by day, and at night it would appear like fire.

Na kila lilipoinuliwa lile wingu juu ya ile Hema ndipo wana wa Israeli waliposafiri; na mahali lilipokaa lile wingu, ndipo wana wa Israeli walipopiga kambi yao.
Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, the Israelites would set out, and wherever the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp.

Kwa amri ya Bwana Wana wa Israeli walisafiri, na kwa amri ya Bwana walipiga kambi; wakati lile wingu ilipokaa juu ya maskani walikaa katika kambi yao.
At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at the LORD’s command they camped. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle, they remained encamped.

Na lile wingu lilipokawia juu ya maskani siku nyingi, ndipo wana wa Israeli walipolinda malinzi ya Bwana, wala hawakusafiri.
Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD’s charge and did not set out.

Na pengine lile wingu lilikaa juu ya maskani siku chache; ndipo kwa amri ya Bwana walikaa katika kambi yao, tena kwa amri ya Bwana walisafiri.
Sometimes the cloud remained over the tabernacle for only a few days, and they would camp at the LORD’s command and set out at the LORD’s command.

Na pengine lile wingu lilikaa tangu jioni hata asubuhi; na lile wingu lilipoinuliwa asubuhi walisafiri, au kama likikaa usiku na mchana pia, lilipoinuliwa lile wingu, ndipo waliposafiri.
Sometimes the cloud remained only from evening until morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they would set out. Whether it was by day or by night, when the cloud was taken up, they would set out.

Ikiwa lile wingu lilikawia, likikaa juu ya maskani siku mbili, au mwezi, au mwaka, wana wa Israeli walikaa katika kambi yao, wasisafiri;
Whether the cloud lingered for two days, a month, or longer, the Israelites camped and did not set out as long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle; but when it was lifted, they would set out.

bali lilipoinuliwa walisafiri. Kwa amri ya Bwana walipiga kambi yao, na kwa amri ya Bwana walisafiri; wakayalinda malinzi ya Bwana, kwa mkono wa Musa.
They camped at the LORD’s command, and they set out at the LORD’s command; they carried out the LORD’s charge according to His command through Moses.
