Kisha Bwana akanena na Musa, akamwambia,
And the LORD said to Moses,

Nena na wana wa Israeli, kisha upokee kwao fimbo, fimbo moja kwa ajili ya nyumba ya kila baba, katika wakuu wao wote, kama nyumba za baba zao zilivyo, fimbo kumi na mbili; kisha andika jina la kila mtu katika fimbo yake.
“Speak to the Israelites and take from them twelve staffs, one from the leader of each tribe. Write each man’s name on his staff,

Na katika fimbo ya Lawi utaliandika jina la Haruni; maana, itakuwa fimbo moja kwa kila kichwa cha nyumba za baba zao.
and write Aaron’s name on the staff of Levi, because there must be one staff for the head of each tribe.

Nawe utaziweka katika hema ya kukutania mbele ya huo ushahidi, hapo nikutanapo pamoja nanyi.
Place the staffs in the Tent of Meeting in front of the Testimony, where I meet with you.

Kisha itakuwa, mtu huyo nitakayemchagua, fimbo yake itachipuka; nami nitayakomesha kwangu manung'uniko ya wana wa Israeli, wanung'unikiayo juu yenu.
The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid Myself of the constant grumbling of the Israelites against you.”

Basi Musa akawaambia wana wa Israeli, ndipo wakuu wao wote wakampa fimbo, fimbo moja kwa kila mkuu, kama nyumba za baba zao zilivyokuwa, fimbo kumi na mbili; na fimbo ya Haruni ilikuwa kati ya fimbo zao.
So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and each of their leaders gave him a staff—one for each of the leaders of their tribes, twelve staffs in all. And Aaron’s staff was among them.

Kisha Musa akaziweka hizo fimbo mbele za Bwana katika hema ya kukutania.
Then Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.

Ilikuwa siku ya pili yake, Musa akaingia ndani ya hema ya ushahidi; na tazama, ile fimbo ya Haruni iliyokuwa kwa nyumba ya Lawi ilikuwa imechipuka, imetoa michipukizi, na kuchanua maua; na kuzaa malozi mabivu.
The next day Moses entered the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron’s staff, representing the house of Levi, had sprouted, put forth buds, blossomed, and produced almonds.

Kisha Musa akazileta nje hizo fimbo zote kutoka hapo mbele za Bwana na kuziweka mbele ya wana wa Israeli wote; nao wakaangalia, na kila mtu akaitwaa fimbo yake.
Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD’s presence to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man took his own staff.

Kisha Bwana akamwambia Musa, Irudishe fimbo ya Haruni mbele ya ushahidi, ili itunzwe iwe ishara juu ya hawa wana wa maasi; ili uyakomeshe manung'uniko yao waliyoninung'unikia, ili wasife.
The LORD said to Moses, “Put Aaron’s staff back in front of the Testimony, to be kept as a sign for the rebellious, so that you may put an end to their grumbling against Me, lest they die.”

Basi Musa akafanya vivyo; kama Bwana alivyomwagiza, ndivyo alivyofanya.
So Moses did as the LORD had commanded him.

Kisha wana wa Israeli wakanena na Musa, na kumwambia, Angalia, sisi twafa, twaangamia, sote twaangamia.
Then the Israelites declared to Moses, “Look, we are perishing! We are lost; we are all lost!

Kila mtu akaribiaye, aikaribiaye maskani ya Bwana, hufa; je! Tutakufa pia sote?
Anyone who comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to perish?”
