Behold, the LORD lays waste the earth and leaves it in ruins. He will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants—

Na itakuwa kama ilivyo hali ya watu, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali ya kuhani; kama ilivyo hali ya mtumwa, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali ya bwana wake; kama ilivyo hali ya mjakazi, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali ya bibi yake; kama ilivyo hali yake anunuaye, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali yake auzaye; kama ilivyo hali yake akopeshaye, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali yake akopaye; kama ilivyo hali yake atwaaye faida, ndivyo itakavyokuwa hali yake ampaye faida.
people and priest alike, servant and master, maid and mistress, buyer and seller, lender and borrower, creditor and debtor.

Dunia hii itafanywa tupu kabisa, na kuharibiwa kabisa; maana Bwana amenena neno hilo.
The earth will be utterly laid waste and thoroughly plundered. For the LORD has spoken this word.

Dunia inaomboleza, inazimia; ulimwengu unadhoofika, unazimia; watu wakuu wa dunia wanadhoofika.
The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and fades; the exalted of the earth waste away.

Tena dunia imetiwa unajisi kwa watu wanaoikaa; kwa maana wameziasi sheria, wameibadili amri, wamelivunja agano la milele.
The earth is defiled by its people; they have transgressed the laws; they have overstepped the decrees and broken the everlasting covenant.

Ndiyo sababu laana imeila dunia hii, na hao wanaoikaa wameonekana kuwa na hatia, ndiyo sababu watu wanaoikaa dunia wameteketea, watu waliosalia wakawa wachache tu.
Therefore a curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants must bear the guilt; the earth’s dwellers have been burned, and only a few survive.

Divai mpya inaomboleza, mzabibu umedhoofika, watu wote waliochangamka moyo wanaugua.
The new wine dries up, the vine withers. All the merrymakers now groan.

Sauti ya furaha ya matoazi inakoma; kelele yao wafurahio imekwisha; furaha ya kinubi inakoma.
The joyful tambourines have ceased; the noise of revelers has stopped; the joyful harp is silent.

Hawatakunywa divai pamoja na nyimbo; kileo kitakuwa uchungu kwao wakinywao.
They no longer sing and drink wine; strong drink is bitter to those who consume it.

Mji wa machafuko umebomolewa; kila nyumba imefungwa, asipate kuingia mtu awaye yote.
The city of chaos is shattered; every house is closed to entry.

Pana kilio katika njia kuu kwa sababu ya divai; furaha yote imetiwa giza, na changamko la nchi limetoweka.
In the streets they cry out for wine. All joy turns to gloom; rejoicing is exiled from the land.

Ndani ya mji umebaki ukiwa, na lango lake limepigwa kwa uharibifu.
The city is left in ruins; its gate is reduced to rubble.

Maana katikati ya dunia, katikati ya mataifa, itakuwa hivi; kama wakati utikiswapo mzeituni, kama wakati waokotapo zabibu baada ya mavuno yake.
So will it be on the earth and among the nations, like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.

Hawa watainua sauti zao, watapiga kelele; kwa sababu ya utukufu wa Bwana watapiga kelele toka baharini.
They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they proclaim the majesty of the LORD.

Basi, mtukuzeni Bwana katika mashariki, litukuzeni jina la Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, katika visiwa vya bahari.
Therefore glorify the LORD in the east. Extol the name of the LORD, the God of Israel in the islands of the sea.

Toka pande za mwisho wa dunia tumesikia nyimbo, Atukuzwe mwenye haki. Ndipo niliposema, Kukonda kwangu! Kukonda kwangu! Ole wangu! Watenda hila wametenda hila, naam, watendao hila wametenda hila sana.
From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said, “I am wasting away! I am wasting away! Woe is me.” The treacherous betray; the treacherous deal in treachery.

Hofu, na shimo, na mtego, vi juu yako, Ee mwenye kukaa duniani.
Terror and pit and snare await you, O dweller of the earth.

Itakuwa kila akimbiaye sauti ya hofu ataanguka katika shimo; na kila apandaye na kutoka shimoni atanaswa na mtego; kwa maana madirisha yaliyo juu yamewekwa wazi, na misingi ya dunia inatikisika.
Whoever flees the sound of panic will fall into the pit, and whoever climbs from the pit will be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are open, and the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Dunia kuvunjika, inavunjika sana; dunia kupasuka, imepasuka sana; dunia kutikisika, imetikisika sana.
The earth is utterly broken apart, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken violently.

Dunia inalewa-lewa kama mlevi, nayo inawaya-waya kama machela; na mzigo wa dhambi zake utailemea; nayo itaanguka, wala haitainuka tena.
The earth staggers like a drunkard and sways like a shack. Earth’s rebellion weighs it down, and it falls, never to rise again.

Tena itakuwa katika siku hiyo, Bwana ataliadhibu jeshi la mahali palipo juu katika mahali palipo juu, na wafalme wa dunia katika dunia;
In that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven above and the kings of the earth below.

They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit. They will be confined to a dungeon and punished after many days.

Ndipo mwezi utatahayari, na jua litaona haya; kwa kuwa Bwana wa majeshi atatawala katika mlima wa Sayuni, na katika Yerusalemu, na mbele ya wazee wake kwa utukufu.
The moon will be confounded and the sun will be ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.
