Ndipo huyo Elifazi, Mtemani, akajibu na kusema, Ayabu 4:1

Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

Mtu akijaribu kuzungumza nawe, je! Utaona ni vibaya? Lakini ni nani awezaye kujizuia asinene? Ayabu 4:2

"If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?

Tazama, wewe umewafunza watu wengi, Nawe umeitia nguvu mikono iliyokuwa minyonge. Ayabu 4:3

Behold, you have instructed many, You have strengthened the weak hands.

Maneno yako yamemtegemeza huyo aliyekuwa anaanguka, Nawe umeyaimarisha magoti manyonge. Ayabu 4:4

Your words have supported him who was falling, You have made firm the feeble knees.

Lakini sasa haya yamekufikilia wewe, nawe wafa moyo; Yamekugusa, nawe wafadhaika. Ayabu 4:5

But now it is come to you, and you faint; It touches you, and you are troubled.

Je! Dini yako siyo mataraja yako, Na matumaini yako si huo uelekevu wa njia zako? Ayabu 4:6

Isn't your piety your confidence, The integrity of your ways your hope?

Kumbuka, tafadhali, ni nani aliyeangamia akiwa hana hatia? Au hao waelekevu, walikatiliwa mbali wapi? Ayabu 4:7

"Remember, now, whoever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?

Kama mimi nilivyoona, hao walimao maovu, Na kupanda madhara, huvuna yayo hayo. Ayabu 4:8

According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity, And sow trouble, Reap the same.

Kwa pumzi za Mungu huangamia. Na kwa kuvuma kwa hasira zake humalizika. Ayabu 4:9

By the breath of God they perish, By the blast of his anger are they consumed.

Kunguruma kwake simba, na sauti ya simba mkali, Na meno ya simba wachanga, yamevunjika. Ayabu 4:10

The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, The teeth of the young lions, are broken.

Simba mzee huangamia kwa kukosa mawindo, Nao watoto wa simba mke wametawanyika mbalimbali. Ayabu 4:11

The old lion perishes for lack of prey, The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.

Basi, nililetewa neno kwa siri, Sikio langu likasikia manong'ono yake. Ayabu 4:12

"Now a thing was secretly brought to me, My ear received a whisper of it.

Katika mawazo yaliyotoka katika maono ya usiku, Hapo usingizi mzito uwaangukiapo wanadamu. Ayabu 4:13

In thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men,

Hofu iliniangukia na kutetema, Iliyoitetemesha mifupa yangu yote. Ayabu 4:14

Fear came on me, and trembling, Which made all my bones shake.

Ndipo pepo ilipita mbele ya uso wangu; Na nywele za mwili wangu zilisimama. Ayabu 4:15

Then a spirit passed before my face; The hair of my flesh stood up.

Hiyo pepo ilisimama kimya, nisiweze kutambua sura zake, Mfano ulikuwa mbele ya macho yangu; Kulikuwa kimya, nami nilisikia sauti, ikinena, Ayabu 4:16

It stood still, but I couldn't discern the appearance of it; A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,

Je! Binadamu atakuwa na haki kuliko Mungu? Je! Mtu atakuwa safi kuliko Muumba wake? Ayabu 4:17

'Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

Tazama, yeye hawategemei watumishi wake; Na malaika zake huwahesabia upuzi; Ayabu 4:18

Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error.

Je! Si zaidi sana hao wakaao katika nyumba za udongo, Ambazo misingi yao i katika mchanga, Hao waliosetwa mbele ya nondo! Ayabu 4:19

How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who are crushed before the moth!

Kati ya asubuhi na jioni huvunjwa-vunjwa; Waangamia milele wala hapana atiaye moyoni. Ayabu 4:20

Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.

Je! Kamba ya hema yao haikung'olewa ndani yao? Wafa, kisha hali hawana akili. Ayabu 4:21

Isn't their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.'
