Ndipo Musa na wana wa Israeli wakamwimbia Bwana wimbo huu wakanena, na kusema, Nitamwimbia Bwana, kwa maana ametukuka sana; Farasi na mpanda farasi amewatupa baharini.
Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted. The horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.

Bwana ni nguvu zangu, na wimbo wangu; Naye amekuwa wokovu wangu. Yeye ni Mungu wangu, nami nitamsifu; Ni Mungu wa baba yangu, nami nitamtukuza.
The LORD is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

The LORD is a warrior, the LORD is His name.

Magari ya Farao na jeshi lake amewatupa baharini, Maakida yake wateule wamezama katika bahari ya Shamu.
Pharaoh’s chariots and army He has cast into the sea; the finest of his officers are drowned in the Red Sea.

Vilindi vimewafunikiza, Walizama vilindini kama jiwe.
The depths have covered them; they sank there like a stone.

Bwana, mkono wako wa kuume umepata fahari ya uwezo, Bwana, mkono wako wa kuume wawaseta-seta adui.
Your right hand, O LORD, is majestic in power; Your right hand, O LORD, has shattered the enemy.

Kwa wingi wa ukuu wako wawaangusha chini wanaokuondokea, Wapeleka hasira yako, nayo huwateketeza kama mabua makavu.
You overthrew Your adversaries by Your great majesty. You unleashed Your burning wrath; it consumed them like stubble.

Kwa upepo wa mianzi ya pua yako maji yalipandishwa, Mawimbi yakasimama juu wima mfano wa chungu, Vilindi vikagandamana ndani ya moyo wa bahari.
At the blast of Your nostrils the waters piled up; like a wall the currents stood firm; the depths congealed in the heart of the sea.

Adui akasema, Nitafuatia, nitapata, nitagawanya nyara, Nafsi yangu itashibishwa na wao; Nitaufuta upanga wangu, mkono wangu utawaangamiza.
The enemy declared, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.’

Ulivuma kwa upepo wako, bahari ikawafunikiza; Wakazama kama risasi ndani ya maji makuu.
But You blew with Your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Ee Bwana, katika miungu ni nani aliye kama wewe? Ni nani aliye kama wewe, mtukufu katika utakatifu, Mwenye kuogopwa katika sifa zako, mfanya maajabu?
Who among the gods is like You, O LORD? Who is like You—majestic in holiness, revered with praises, performing wonders?

Ulinyosha mkono wako wa kuume, Nchi ikawameza.
You stretched out Your right hand, and the earth swallowed them up.
13
Wewe kwa rehema zako umewaongoza watu uliowakomboa, Kwa uweza wako uliwaelekeza hata makao yako matakatifu.
With loving devotion You will lead the people You have redeemed; with Your strength You will guide them to Your holy dwelling.
14
Kabila za watu wamesikia, wanatetemeka, Wakaao Ufilisti utungu umewashika.
The nations will hear and tremble; anguish will grip the dwellers of Philistia.
15
Ndipo majumbe wa Edomu wakashangaa, Watu wa Moabu wenye nguvu tetemeko limewapata, Watu wote wakaao Kanaani wameyeyuka.
Then the chiefs of Edom will be dismayed; trembling will seize the leaders of Moab; those who dwell in Canaan will melt away,

Hofu na woga umewaangukia; Kwa uweza wa mkono wako wanakaa kimya kama jiwe; Hata watakapovuka watu wako, Ee Bwana, Hata watakapovuka watu wako uliowanunua.
and terror and dread will fall on them. By the power of Your arm they will be as still as a stone until Your people pass by, O LORD, until the people You have bought pass by.

Utawaingiza, na kuwapanda katika mlima wa urithi wako, Mahali pale ulipojifanyia, Ee Bwana, ili upakae, Pale patakatifu ulipopaweka imara, Bwana, kwa mikono yako.
You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of Your inheritance—the place, O LORD, You have prepared for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, Your hands have established.

Bwana atatawala milele na milele.
The LORD will reign forever and ever!”

Kwa maana farasi za Farao na magari yake na wapanda farasi wake waliingia ndani ya bahari, Bwana akayarudisha maji ya bahari juu yao; bali wana wa Israeli walikwenda katika nchi kavu katikati ya bahari.
For when Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen went into the sea, the LORD brought the waters of the sea back over them. But the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground.

Na Miriamu, nabii mke, ndugu yake Haruni, akatwaa tari mkononi mwake; wanawake wakatoka wote wakaenda nyuma yake, wenye matari na kucheza.
Then Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her with tambourines and dancing.

Miriamu akawaitikia,Mwimbieni Bwana ,kwa maana ametukuka sana;Farasi na mpanda farasi amewatupa baharini.
And Miriam sang back to them: “Sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted; the horse and rider He has thrown into the sea.”

Musa akawaongoza Israeli waende mbele kutoka Bahari ya Shamu, nao wakatokea kwa jangwa la Shuri; wakaenda safari ya siku tatu jangwani wasione maji.
Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the Desert of Shur. For three days they walked in the desert without finding water.

Walipofika mahali palipoitwa Mara hawakupata kuyanywa yale maji ya Mara, kwa kuwa yalikuwa machungu; kwa ajili ya hayo jina lake likaitwa Mara.
And when they came to Marah, they could not drink the water there because it was bitter. (That is why it was named Marah.)

Ndipo watu wakamnung'unikia Musa, wakisema, Tunywe nini?
So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”

Naye akamlilia Bwana; Bwana akamwonyesha mti, naye akautia katika hayo maji, maji yakawa matamu. Basi akawawekea amri na hukumu huko, akawaonja huko;
And Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a log. And when he cast it into the waters, they were sweetened. There the LORD made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He tested them,

akawaambia, Kwamba utaisikiza kwa bidii sauti ya Bwana, Mungu wako, na kuyafanya yaliyoelekea mbele zake, na kutega masikio usikie maagizo yake, na kuzishika amri zake, mimi sitatia juu yako maradhi yo yote niliyowatia Wamisri; kwa kuwa Mimi ndimi Bwana nikuponyaye.
saying, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His eyes, and pay attention to His commands, and keep all His statutes, then I will not bring on you any of the diseases I inflicted on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

Wakafikilia Elimu, palipokuwa na chemchemi kumi na mbili, na mitende sabini; wakapanga hapo, karibu na maji.</p>
Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there by the waters.
