Bwana akasema na Musa, akamwambia,
Then the LORD said to Moses,

Waambie wana wa Israeli, kwamba warudi na kupiga kambi yao mbele ya Pi-hahirothi, kati ya Migdoli na bahari, kukabili Baal-sefoni; mtapanga mbele yake karibu na bahari.
“Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. You are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal-zephon.

Naye Farao atasema katika habari za wana wa Israeli, Wametatanishwa katika nchi, ile jangwa imewazuia wasitoke.
For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, ‘They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.’

Nami nitaufanya uwe mgumu moyo wa Farao, naye atafuata nyuma yao; nami nitajipatia utukufu kwa Farao, na kwa jeshi lake lote; na Wamisri watajua ya kuwa mimi ndimi Bwana. Basi wakafanya hivyo.
And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So this is what the Israelites did.

Mfalme wa Misri aliambiwa ya kuwa wale watu wamekwisha kimbia; na moyo wa Farao, na mioyo ya watumishi wake, iligeuzwa iwe kinyume cha hao watu, nao wakasema, Ni nini jambo hili tulilotenda, kwa kuwaacha Waisraeli waende zao wasitutumikie tena?
When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”

Akaandalia gari lake, akawachukua watu wake pamoja naye;
So Pharaoh prepared his chariot and took his army with him.

tena akatwaa magari mia sita yaliyochaguliwa, na magari yote ya Wamisri, na maakida juu ya magari hayo yote.
He took 600 of the best chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them.

Na Bwana akaufanya moyo wake Farao mfalme wa Misri kuwa mgumu, naye akawafuata wana wa Israeli; kwa sababu wana wa Israeli walitoka kwa ujeuri.
And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out defiantly.

Wamisri wakafuata nyuma yao, farasi zote na magari yote ya Farao, na askari zake wenye kupanda farasi, na jeshi lake, nao wakawapata hali wamepanga pale karibu na bahari, karibu na Pi-hahirothi, kukabili Baal-sefoni.
The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops—pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi-hahiroth, opposite Baal-zephon.

Hata Farao alipokaribia, wana wa Israeli wakainua macho yao, na tazama, Wamisri wanakuja nyuma yao; wakaogopa sana; wana wa Israeli wakamlilia Bwana.
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were terrified and cried out to the LORD.

Wakamwambia Musa, Je! Kwa sababu hapakuwa na makaburi katika Misri umetutoa huko ili tufe jangwani? Mbona umetutendea haya, kututoa katika nchi ya Misri?
They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

Neno hili silo tulilokuambia huko Misri, tukisema, Tuache tuwatumikie Wamisri? Maana ni afadhali kuwatumikia Wamisri kuliko kufa jangwani.
Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”

Musa akawaambia watu, Msiogope, simameni tu, mkauone wokovu wa Bwana atakaowafanyia leo; kwa maana hao Wamisri mliowaona leo hamtawaona tena milele.
But Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD’s salvation, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.

Bwana atawapigania ninyi, nanyi mtanyamaza kimya.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Bwana akamwambia Musa, Mbona unanililia mimi? Waambie wana wa Israeli waendelee mbele.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.
16
Nawe inua fimbo yako, ukanyoshe mkono wako juu ya bahari, na kuigawanya; nao wana wa Israeli watapita kati ya bahari katika nchi kavu.
And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

Nami, tazama, nitaifanya mioyo ya Wamisri kuwa migumu, nao wataingia na kuwafuatia, nami nitajipatia utukufu kwa Farao, na kwa jeshi lake lote, kwa magari yake na kwa wapanda farasi wake.
And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. Then I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army and chariots and horsemen.

Na Wamisri watajua ya kuwa mimi ndimi Bwana, nitakapokwisha kujipatia utukufu kwa Farao, na magari yake, na farasi zake.
The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I am honored through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”

Kisha malaika wa Mungu, aliyetangulia mbele ya jeshi la Israeli, akaondoka akaenda nyuma yao; na ile nguzo ya wingu ikaondoka hapo mbele yao, ikasimama nyuma yao;
And the angel of God, who had gone before the camp of Israel, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from before them and stood behind them,

ikafika kati ya jeshi la Misri na jeshi la Israeli; napo palikuwa na lile wingu na lile giza, lakini lilitoa nuru wakati wa usiku; na hawa hawakuwakaribia hawa usiku kucha.
so that it came between the camps of Egypt and Israel. The cloud was there in the darkness, but it lit up the night. So all night long neither camp went near the other.

Musa; akanyosha mkono wake juu ya bahari; Bwana akaifanya bahari irudi nyuma kwa upepo wa nguvu utokao mashariki, usiku kucha, akaifanya bahari kuwa nchi kavu, maji yakagawanyika.
Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,

Wana wa Israeli wakaenda ndani kati ya bahari katika nchi kavu; nayo maji yalikuwa ukuta kwao mkono wa kuume, na mkono wa kushoto.
and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.

Na wale Wamisri wakawafuatia, wakaingia ndani kati ya bahari, farasi zote za Farao, na magari yake, na wapanda farasi wake.
And the Egyptians chased after them—all Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen—and followed them into the sea.

Ikawa katika zamu ya alfajiri, Bwana akalichungulia jeshi la Wamisri katika ile nguzo ya moto na ya wingu, akalifadhaisha jeshi la Wamisri.
At morning watch, however, the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians from the pillar of fire and cloud, and He threw their camp into confusion.

Akayaondoa magurudumu ya magari yao, hata yakaenda kwa uzito; na Wamisri wakasema, Na tukimbie mbele ya Israeli; kwa kuwa Bwana anawapigania, kinyume cha Wamisri.
He caused their chariot wheels to wobble, so that they had difficulty driving. “Let us flee from the Israelites,” said the Egyptians, “for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”

Bwana akamwambia Musa, Nyosha mkono wako juu ya bahari, ili maji yarudi tena juu ya Wamisri, juu ya magari yao, na juu ya farasi zao.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”

Musa akaunyosha mkono wake juu ya bahari, na kulipopambazuka, bahari ikarudi kwa nguvu zake; Wamisri wakakimbia mbele yake; na Bwana akawakukutia mbali hao Wamisri kati ya bahari.
So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea returned to its normal state. As the Egyptians were retreating, the LORD swept them into the sea.

Yale maji yakarudi yakafunikiza magari na wapanda farasi, hata jeshi lote la Farao lililoingia katika bahari nyuma yao; hakusalia hata mtu mmoja.
The waters flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
29
Lakini wana wa Israeli wakaenda katika nchi kavu katikati ya bahari; na hayo maji yalikuwa ni kuta upande wao wa kuume, na upande wao wa kushoto.
But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.
30
Ndivyo Bwana alivyowaokoa Israeli siku ile mikononi mwa Wamisri; Waisraeli wakawaona Wamisri ufuoni kwa bahari, wamekufa.
That day the LORD saved Israel from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore.
31
Israeli akaiona ile kazi kubwa aliyoifanya Bwana juu ya Wamisri, ndipo hao watu wakamcha Bwana, wakamwamini Bwana, na Musa mtumishi wake.
When Israel saw the great power that the LORD had exercised over the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and believed in Him and in His servant Moses.
