Musa akawaita Israeli wote, akawaambia, Enyi Israeli, zisikieni amri na hukumu ninenazo masikioni mwenu leo, mpate kujifunza na kuangalia kuzitenda.
Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.
Bwana, Mungu wetu, alifanya agano nasi katika Horebu.
Yahweh our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Bwana hakufanya agano hili na baba zetu, bali na sisi, yaani, sisi sote tuliopo hapa, tu hai.
Yahweh didn't make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
Bwana alisema nanyi uso kwa uso mlimani, toka kati ya moto;
Yahweh spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the midst of the fire,
(nami wakati ule nalisimama kati ya Bwana na ninyi, ili kuwaonyesha neno la Bwana; maana, mliogopa kwa sababu ya ule moto, wala hamkupanda mlimani); naye akasema,
(I stood between Yahweh and you at that time, to show you the word of Yahweh: for you were afraid because of the fire, and didn't go up onto the mountain;) saying,
Mimi ni Bwana, Mungu wako, niliyekutoa katika nchi ya Misri, katika nyumba ya utumwa.
"I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Usiwe na miungu mingine ila mimi.
You shall have no other gods before me.
Usijifanyie sanamu ya kuchonga, mfano wa kitu cho chote kilicho juu mbinguni, au kilicho chini duniani, au kilicho majini chini ya nchi.
"You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, [nor] any likeness [of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Usivisujudie wala kuvitumikia; kwa kuwa mimi Bwana, Mungu wako, ni Mungu mwenye wivu, nawapatiliza wana uovu wa baba zao; hata kizazi cha tatu na cha nne cha wanichukiao,
you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, Yahweh, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me;
nami nawarehemu maelfu elfu wanipendao, na kuzishika amri zangu.
and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
Usilitaje bure Jina la Bwana, Mungu wako; maana Bwana hatamhesabia kuwa hana hatia, mtu alitajaye jina lake bure.
"You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain: for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
Ishike siku ya Sabato uitakase, kama Bwana, Mungu wako, alivyokuamuru.
"Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you.
Siku sita fanya kazi, utende mambo yako yote;
Six days shall you labor, and do all your work;
lakini siku ya saba ni Sabato ya Bwana, Mungu wako; siku hiyo usifanye kazi yo yote, wewe, wala mwanao, wala binti yako, wala mtumwa wako, wala mjakazi wako, wala ng'ombe wako, wala punda wako, wala mnyama wako ye yote, wala mgeni aliye ndani ya malango yako, ili mtumwa wako na mjakazi wako wapumzike vile vile kama wewe.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God: [in it] you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your man-servant, nor your maid-servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your man-servant and your maid-servant may rest as well as you.
Nawe utakumbuka ya kuwa wewe ulikuwa mtumwa katika nchi ya Misri, na ya kuwa Bwana, Mungu wako, alikutoa huko kwa mkono wenye nguvu, na mkono ulionyoshwa; kwa sababu hiyo Bwana, Mungu wako, alikuamuru uishike sabato.
You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore Yahweh your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
Waheshimu baba yako na mama yako; kama Bwana, Mungu wako, alivyokuamuru, siku zako zipate kuzidi, nawe upate kufanikiwa katika nchi upewayo na Bwana, Mungu wako.
"Honor your father and your mother, as Yahweh your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.
Usiue.
"You shall not murder.
Wala usizini.
"Neither shall you commit adultery.
Wala usiibe.
"Neither shall you steal.
Wala usimshuhudie jirani yako uongo.
"Neither shall you give false testimony against your neighbor.
Wala usimtamani mke wa jirani yako; wala usiitamani nyumba ya jirani yako, wala shamba lake, wala mtumwa wake, wala mjakazi wake, wala ng'ombe wake, wala punda wake, wala kitu cho chote alicho nacho jirani yako.
"Neither shall you covet your neighbor's wife; neither shall you desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his man-servant, or his maid-servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's."
Haya ndiyo maneno ambayo Bwana aliwaambia mkutano wenu wote mlimani kwa sauti kuu toka kati ya moto, na wingu, na giza kuu; wala hakuongeza neno. Akayaandika juu ya mbao mbili za mawe, akanipa.
These words Yahweh spoke to all your assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. He wrote them on two tables of stone, and gave them to me.
Ikawa, mlipoisikia sauti ile toka kati ya giza, na wakati uo huo mlima ule ulikuwa ukiwaka moto, basi, mlinikaribia, naam, wakuu wote wa kabila zenu, na wazee wenu,
It happened, when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
mkasema, Tazama, Bwana, Mungu wetu, ametuonyesha utukufu wake, na ukuu wake, nasi tunasikia sauti yake toka kati ya moto; mmeona leo ya kuwa Mungu husema na mwanadamu, naye akaishi.
and you said, Behold, Yahweh our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does speak with man, and he lives.
Sasa basi, mbona tufe? Maana moto huu mkubwa utatuteketeza; tukiisikia tena sauti ya Bwana, Mungu wetu, tutakufa.
Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of Yahweh our God any more, then we shall die.
Maana katika wote wenye mwili ni nani aliyeisikia sauti ya Mungu aliye hai, akisema toka kati ya moto, kama vile sisi, asife?
For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
Enenda karibu wewe, ukasikie yote atakayoyasema Bwana, Mungu wetu; ukatuambie yote atakayokuambia Bwana, Mungu wetu; nasi tutayasikia na kuyatenda.
Go you near, and hear all that Yahweh our God shall say: and speak you to us all that Yahweh our God shall speak to you; and we will hear it, and do it.
Naye Bwana akasikia sauti ya maneno yenu mliyoniambia; Bwana akaniambia, Nimesikia sauti ya maneno ya watu hawa waliyokuambia; wamesema vema yote waliyosema.
Yahweh heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and Yahweh said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you: they have well said all that they have spoken.
Laiti wangekuwa na moyo kama huu ndani yao sikuzote, wa kunicha, na kushika amri zangu zote sikuzote, wapate kufanikiwa wao na watoto wao milele!
Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!
Enda uwaambie, Rudini hemani mwenu.
Go tell them, Return you to your tents.
Lakini wewe, simama hapa karibu nami, nami nitanena nawe sheria zote, na amri na hukumu, utakazowafunza, wapate kuzifanya katika nchi niwapayo kuimiliki.
But as for you, stand you here by me, and I will speak to you all the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
Tunzeni basi, mtende kama mlivyoamriwa na Bwana, Mungu wenu; msikengeuke kwa mkono wa kuume wala wa kushoto.
You shall observe to do therefore as Yahweh your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
Endeni njia yote aliyowaagiza Bwana, Mungu wenu, mpate kuwa hai, na kufanikiwa, mkafanye siku zenu kuwa nyingi katika nchi mtakayoimiliki.</p>
You shall walk in all the way which Yahweh your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
