Ndipo neno la Bwana likamjia Yehu mwana wa Hanani juu ya Baasha, kusema,
Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha, saying:

Kwa kuwa mimi nilikuinua kutoka katika mavumbi, na kukufanya uwe mkuu juu ya watu wangu Israeli; nawe umeiendea njia ya Yeroboamu, na kuwakosesha watu wangu Israeli, hata wanighadhibishe kwa makosa yao;
“Even though I lifted you out of the dust and made you ruler over My people Israel, you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have caused My people Israel to sin and to provoke Me to anger by their sins.

angalia, kuondoa nitawaondoa Baasha na jamaa yake; tena nitaifanya nyumba yako iwe kama nyumba ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati.
So now I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat:

Mtu amfiaye Baasha mjini mbwa watamla; naye amfiaye mashambani ndege wa angani watamla.
Anyone belonging to Baasha who dies in the city will be eaten by dogs, and anyone who dies in the field will be eaten by the birds of the air.”

Basi, mambo yote ya Baasha yaliyosalia, na aliyoyafanya, na nguvu zake, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli?
As for the rest of the acts of Baasha, along with his accomplishments and might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Baasha akalala na babaze, akazikwa katika Tirza; naye Ela mwanawe akatawala mahali pake.
And Baasha rested with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah, and his son Elah reigned in his place.

Tena neno la Bwana likaja kwa mkono wa nabii Yehu mwana wa Hanani juu ya Baasha, na juu ya nyumba yake, kwa sababu ya mabaya yote aliyoyatenda machoni pa Bwana, akimghadhibisha kwa kazi ya mikono yake, kwa kufanana na nyumba ya Yeroboamu, na kwa sababu aliiharibu.
Moreover, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, because of all the evil he had done in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands and becoming like the house of Jeroboam, and also because Baasha had struck down the house of Jeroboam.

Katika mwaka wa ishirini na sita wa Asa mfalme wa Yuda, Ela mwana wa Baasha alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli huko Tirza, akatawala miaka miwili.
In the twenty-sixth year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel, and he reigned in Tirzah two years.

Na mtumwa wake Zimri, jemadari wa nusu ya magari yake, akamfanyia fitina; alipokuwako Tirza akinywa hata kulewa nyumbani mwa Arsa, aliyekuwa juu ya nyumba huko Tirza;
However, while Elah was in Tirzah getting drunk in the house of Arza the steward of his household there, Elah’s servant Zimri, the commander of half his chariots, conspired against him.

Zimri akaingia akampiga, akamwua, katika mwaka wa ishirini na saba wa Asa mfalme wa Yuda, akatawala mahali pake.
So in the twenty-seventh year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Zimri went in, struck Elah down, and killed him. And Zimri reigned in his place.

Ikawa, alipoanza kutawala, mara alipoketi juu ya kiti chake cha enzi, akawaua nyumba yote ya Baasha; hakumwachia mwanamume ye yote, wa jamaa zake, wala wa rafiki zake.
As soon as Zimri began to reign and was seated on the throne, he struck down the entire household of Baasha. He did not leave a single male, whether a kinsman or friend.

Hivyo Zimri akaiharibu nyumba yote ya Baasha, sawasawa na neno la Bwana, alilolinena juu ya Baasha kwa Yehu nabii,
So Zimri destroyed the entire household of Baasha, according to the word that the LORD had spoken against Baasha through Jehu the prophet.

kwa sababu ya makosa yake Baasha, na makosa yote ya Ela mwanawe, waliyoyakosa, na kuwakosesha Israeli, wakimghadhibisha Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, kwa matendo yao ya ubatili.
This happened because of all the sins Baasha and his son Elah had committed and had caused Israel to commit, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their worthless idols.

Na mambo yote ya Ela yaliyosalia, na yote aliyoyafanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli?
As for the rest of the acts of Elah, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Katika mwaka wa ishirini na saba wa Asa mfalme wa Yuda, Zimri akatawala muda wa siku saba huko Tirza. Basi, watu walikuwa wametua maragoni kupigana na Gibethoni, ulio wa Wafilisti.
In the twenty-seventh year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Zimri reigned in Tirzah for seven days. Now the troops were encamped against Gibbethon of the Philistines,

Na hao watu waliokuwako maragoni wakasikia habari ya kwamba Zimri amefanya fitina, tena amempiga mfalme; kwa hiyo Israeli wote wakamfanya Omri, jemadari wa jeshi, awe mfalme juu ya Israeli siku ile maragoni.
and the people in the camp heard that Zimri had conspired against the king and struck him down. So there in the camp that very day, all Israel proclaimed Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel.

Omri akapanda kutoka Gibethoni, na Israeli wote pamoja naye, wakauhusuru Tirza.
Then Omri and all the Israelites marched up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

Ikawa Zimri alipoona ya kuwa mji umetwaliwa, akaingia ngomeni mwa nyumba ya mfalme, akaiteketeza nyumba ya mfalme juu yake kwa moto, akafa;
When Zimri saw that the city was captured, he entered the citadel of the royal palace and burned it down upon himself. So he died

kwa sababu ya makosa aliyoyakosa, akifanya mabaya machoni pa Bwana, kwa kuiendea njia ya Yeroboamu na makosa yake aliyoyafanya akiwakosesha Israeli.
because of the sins he had committed, doing evil in the sight of the LORD and following the example of Jeroboam and the sin he had committed and had caused Israel to commit.

Na mambo yote ya Zimri yaliyosalia na fitina yake aliyoifanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli?
As for the rest of the acts of Zimri and the treason he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Ndipo watu wa Israeli wakatengwa sehemu mbili; nusu ya watu wakamfuata Tibni mwana wa Ginathi, ili wamfanye mfalme; nusu wakamfuata Omri.
At that time the people of Israel were divided: Half of the people supported Tibni son of Ginath as king, and half supported Omri.

Lakini hao watu waliomfuata Omri wakawashinda watu waliomfuata Tibni mwana wa Ginathi; basi akafa Tibni, akatawala Omri.
But the followers of Omri proved stronger than those of Tibni son of Ginath. So Tibni died and Omri became king.

Katika mwaka wa thelathini na moja wa Asa, mfalme wa Yuda, Omri alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli, akatawala miaka kumi na miwili. Akatawala huko Tirza miaka sita.
In the thirty-first year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned twelve years, six of them in Tirzah.

Kisha akanunua kilima cha Samaria kwa Shemeri kwa talanta mbili za fedha; akajenga juu ya kilima kile, akauita mji alioujenga Samaria, kwa kuliandama jina lake Shemeri, aliyekuwa mwenye kilima.
He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver and built a city there, calling it Samaria after the name of Shemer, who had owned the hill.

Omri akafanya yaliyo mabaya machoni pa Bwana, akatenda maovu kuliko wote waliomtangulia;
But Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.
26
kwa kuwa aliiendea njia yote ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, na makosa yake, aliyowakosesha Israeli, ili kumghadhibisha Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, kwa matendo yao ya ubatili.
For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and in his sins, which he caused Israel to commit, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their worthless idols.

Nayo mambo yote ya Omri yaliyosalia aliyoyatenda, na uthabiti alioufanya, je! Hayakuandikwa katika kitabu-cha-tarehe cha wafalme wa Israeli?
As for the rest of the acts of Omri, along with his accomplishments and the might he exercised, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

Omri akalala na babaze, akazikwa huko Samaria; na Ahabu mwanawe akatawala mahali pake.
And Omri rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria, and his son Ahab reigned in his place.

Ahabu mwana wa Omri alianza kutawala juu ya Israeli katika mwaka wa thelathini na nane wa Asa mfalme wa Yuda; akatawala Ahabu mwana wa Omri juu ya Israeli katika Samaria miaka ishirini na miwili.
In the thirty-eighth year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria twenty-two years.

Ahabu mwana wa Omri akafanya yaliyo mabaya machoni pa Bwana kuliko wote waliomtangulia.
However, Ahab son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him.
31
Ikawa, kama ingalikuwa neno dogo tu kuyaendea makosa ya Yeroboamu mwana wa Nebati, akamwoa Yezebeli binti Ethbaali, mfalme wa Wasidoni, akaenda akamtumikia Baali, akamsujudia.
And as if it were not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, he even married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and he then proceeded to serve and worship Baal.

Akamjengea Baali madhabahu katika nyumba ya Baali, aliyoijenga huko Samaria.
First, Ahab set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he had built in Samaria.

Ahabu akaifanya Ashera; Ahabu akazidi kumghadhibisha Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, kuliko wafalme wote wa Israeli waliomtangulia.
Then he set up an Asherah pole. Thus Ahab did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel before him.

Katika siku zake, Hieli Mbetheli akajenga Yeriko; akatia misingi yake kwa kufiwa na Abiramu mzaliwa wake wa kwanza, na kuyaweka malango yake kwa kufiwa na mwana wake mdogo Segubu; sawasawa na neno la Bwana alilolinena kwa Yoshua mwana wa Nuni. </p>
In Ahab’s days, Hiel the Bethelite rebuilt Jericho. At the cost of Abiram his firstborn he laid its foundation, and at the cost of Segub his youngest he set up its gates, according to the word that the LORD had spoken through Joshua son of Nun.
