Wakati ule Yesu alipita katika mashamba siku ya sabato; wanafunzi wake wakaona njaa, wakaanza kuvunja masuke, wakala.
At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
Na Mafarisayo walipoona, walimwambia, Tazama! Wanafunzi wako wanafanya neno ambalo si halali kulifanya siku ya sabato.
But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, "Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath."
Akawaambia, Hamkusoma alivyotenda Daudi, alipokuwa na njaa, yeye na wenziwe?
But he said to them, "Haven't you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;
jinsi alivyoingia katika nyumba ya Mungu, akaila mikate ile ya wonyesho, ambayo si halali kwake kuila wala kwa wale wenziwe, ila kwa makuhani peke yao?
how he entered into the house of God, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
Wala hamkusoma katika torati, kwamba siku ya sabato makuhani hekaluni huinajisi sabato wasipate hatia?
Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?
Lakini nawaambieni, kwamba hapa yupo aliye mkuu kuliko hekalu.
But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
Lakini kama mngalijua maana yake maneno haya, Nataka rehema, wala si sadaka, msingaliwalaumu wasio na hatia.
But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless.
Kwa maana Mwana wa Adamu ndiye Bwana wa sabato.
For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."
Akaondoka huko, akaingia katika sinagogi lao.
He departed there, and went into their synagogue.
Na tazama, yumo mtu mwenye mkono umepooza; wakamwuliza, wakisema, Ni halali kuponya watu siku ya sabato? Wapate kumshitaki.
And behold there was a man with a withered hand. They asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?" that they might accuse him.
Akawaambia, Ni mtu yupi miongoni mwenu mwenye kondoo mmoja, na yule kondoo ametumbukia shimoni siku ya sabato, asiyemshika akamwopoa?
He said to them, "What man is there among you, who has one sheep, and if this one falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, won't he grab on to it, and lift it out?
Je! Mtu ni bora kuliko kondoo mara ngapi? Basi ni halali kutenda mema siku ya sabato.
Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day."
Kisha akamwambia yule mtu, Nyosha mkono wako; akaunyosha, ukapona, ukawa mzima kama wa pili.
Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." He stretched it out; and it was restored whole, just like the other.
Lakini wale Mafarisayo wakatoka wakafanya shauri juu yake jinsi ya kumwangamiza.
But the Pharisees went out, and conspired against him, how they might destroy him.
Naye Yesu hali akiyafahamu hayo akaondoka huko; na watu wengi wakamfuata; akawaponya wote,
Jesus, perceiving that, withdrew from there. Great multitudes followed him; and he healed them all,
akawakataza wasimdhihirishe;
and charged them that they should not make him known:
ili litimie neno lililonenwa na nabii Isaya, akisema,
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
Tazama, mtumishi wangu niliyemteua; Mpendwa wangu, moyo wangu uliyependezwa naye; Nitatia roho yangu juu yake, Naye atawatangazia Mataifa hukumu.
"Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit on him. He will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
Hatateta wala hatapaza sauti yake; Wala mtu hatasikia sauti yake njiani.
He will not strive, nor shout; Neither will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
Mwanzi uliopondeka hatauvunja, Wala utambi utokao moshi hatauzima, Hata ailetapo hukumu ikashinda.
He won't break a bruised reed. He won't quench a smoking flax, Until he leads justice to victory.
Na jina lake Mataifa watalitumainia.
In his name, the Gentiles will hope."
Wakati ule akaletewa mtu mwenye pepo, kipofu, naye ni bubu; akamponya, hata yule bubu akanena na kuona.
Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw.
Makutano wote wakashangaa, wakasema, Huyu siye mwana wa Daudi?
All the multitudes were amazed, and said, "Can this be the son of David?"
Lakini Mafarisayo waliposikia, walisema, Huyu hatoi pepo, ila kwa Beelzebuli mkuu wa pepo.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."
Basi Yesu akijua mawazo yao, akawaambia, Kila ufalme ukifitinika juu ya nafsi yake, hufanyika ukiwa; tena mji au nyumba yo yote ikifitinika juu ya nafsi yake, haitasimama.
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Na Shetani akimtoa Shetani, amefitinika juu ya nafsi yake; basi ufalme wake utasimamaje?
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Na mimi nikitoa pepo kwa Beelzebuli, je! Wana wenu huwatoa kwa nani? Kwa sababu hiyo hao ndio watakaowahukumu.
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
Lakini mimi nikitoa pepo kwa Roho wa Mungu, basi ufalme wa Mungu umekwisha kuwajilia.
But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
Ama awezaje mtu kuingia ndani ya nyumba ya mtu mwenye nguvu na kuviteka vyombo vyake, asipomfunga kwanza yule mwenye nguvu? Ndipo atakapoiteka nyumba yake.
Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and plunder his goods, unless he first bind the strong man? Then he will plunder his house.
Mtu asiye pamoja nami yu kinyume changu; na mtu asiyekusanya pamoja nami hutapanya.
"He who is not with me is against me, and he who doesn't gather with me, scatters.
Kwa sababu hiyo nawaambia, Kila dhambi na kila neno la kufuru watasamehewa wanadamu, ila kwa kumkufuru Roho hawatasamehewa.
Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
Naye mtu ye yote atakayenena neno juu ya Mwana wa Adamu atasamehewa, bali yeye atakayenena neno juu ya Roho Mtakatifu hatasamehewa katika ulimwengu wa sasa, wala katika ule ujao.
Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is to come.
Ufanyeni mti kuwa mzuri na matunda yake kuwa mazuri; au ufanyeni mti kuwa mbaya na matunda yake mabaya, kwa maana kwa matunda yake mti hutambulikana.
"Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.
Enyi wazao wa nyoka, mwawezaje kunena mema, mkiwa wabaya? Maana, kinywa cha mtu huyanena yaujazayo moyo wake.
You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Mtu mwema katika akiba njema hutoa mema; na mtu mbaya katika akiba mbaya hutoa mabaya.
The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure{TR adds "of the heart"} brings out evil things.
Basi, nawaambia, Kila neno lisilo maana, watakalolinena wanadamu, watatoa hesabu ya neno hilo siku ya hukumu.
I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Kwa kuwa kwa maneno yako utahesabiwa haki, na kwa maneno yako utahukumiwa.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Hapo baadhi ya waandishi na Mafarisayo wakamjibu, wakasema, Mwalimu, twataka kuona ishara kwako.
Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."
Akajibu, akawaambia, Kizazi kibaya na cha zinaa chatafuta ishara, wala hakitapewa ishara, ila ishara ya nabii Yona.
But he answered them, "An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, but no sign will be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
Kwani kama vile Yona alivyokuwa siku tatu mchana na usiku katika tumbo la nyangumi, hivyo ndivyo Mwana wa Adamu atakavyokuwa siku tatu mchana na usiku katika moyo wa nchi.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Watu wa Ninawi watasimama siku ya hukumu pamoja na watu wa kizazi hiki, nao watawahukumu kuwa wamekosa; kwa sababu wao walitubu kwa mahubiri ya Yona; na hapa yupo aliye mkuu kuliko Yona.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
Malkia wa kusini atasimama siku ya hukumu pamoja na watu wa kizazi hiki, naye atawahukumu kuwa wamekosa; kwa sababu yeye alikuja kutoka pande za mwisho za dunia ili asikie hekima ya Sulemani, na hapa yupo aliye mkuu kuliko Sulemani.
The queen of the south will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, someone greater than Solomon is here.
Pepo mchafu, amtokapo mtu, hupitia mahali pasipo maji, akitafuta mahali pa kupumzika, asipate.
But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn't find it.
Halafu husema, Nitarudi nyumbani kwangu nilikotoka; hata akija, aiona tupu, imefagiwa, na kupambwa.
Then he says, 'I will return into my house from which I came out,' and when he has come back, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Mara huenda, akachukua pamoja naye pepo wengine saba walio waovu kuliko yeye mwenyewe, nao huingia na kukaa humo; na mtu yule hali yake ya mwisho huwa mbaya kuliko ya kwanza. Ndivyo itakavyokuwa kwa kizazi hiki kilicho kibaya.
Then he goes, and takes with himself seven other spirits more evil than he is, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first. Even so will it be also to this evil generation."
Alipokuwa katika kusema na makutano, tazama, mama yake na ndugu zake walikuwa wakisimama nje, wataka kusema naye.
While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, his mother and his brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to him.
Mtu mmoja akamwambia, Tazama, mama yako na ndugu zako wamesimama nje, wanataka kusema nawe.
One said to him, "Behold, your mother and your brothers stand outside, seeking to speak to you."
Akajibu, akamwambia yule aliyempasha habari, Mama yangu ni nani? Na ndugu zangu ni akina nani?
But he answered him who spoke to him, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?"
Akawanyoshea mkono wanafunzi wake, akasema, Tazama, Mama yangu na ndugu zangu!
He stretched out his hand towards his disciples, and said, "Behold, my mother and my brothers!
Kwa maana ye yote atakayeyafanya mapenzi ya Baba yangu aliye mbinguni, huyu ndiye ndugu yangu, na umbu langu, na mama yangu.
For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother."
