Meaning & Inspiration
Ninamjua is a confession of settled confidence in God’s rule, faithfulness, and saving power. Its repeated claim that the singer knows the Lord distinguishes the living God from every rival object of trust. The chorus joins personal assurance with a public declaration that God reigns and that nations tremble before him.
The account of Elijah gives the song its clearest biblical example. On Mount Carmel, Elijah prayed that Israel would know the Lord as God, and fire answered before the assembled people. The lyrics draw on that scene to defend faith in the God who is able to save. Other lines apply that conviction to fear, opposition, and discouragement, presenting knowledge of God’s character as a reason not to surrender to anxiety.
