Neno hili ndilo lililomjia Yeremia, kutoka kwa Bwana, katika mwaka wa kumi wa Sedekia, mfalme wa Yuda, nao ulikuwa mwaka wa kumi na nane wa Nebukadreza.
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

Basi, wakati huo jeshi la mfalme wa Babeli liliuzunguka Yerusalemu; na Yeremia, nabii, alikuwa amefungwa ndani ya uwanda wa walinzi, uliokuwa katika nyumba ya mfalme wa Yuda.
At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was imprisoned in the courtyard of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying: “Why are you prophesying like this? You claim that the LORD says, ‘Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.

Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape from the hands of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

naye atamchukua Sedekia mpaka Babeli, naye atakuwako huko hata nitakapomjilia, asema Bwana; mjapopigana na Wakaldayo hamtafanikiwa.
He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, where he will stay until I attend to him, declares the LORD. If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will not succeed.’”

Yeremia akasema, Neno la Bwana limenijia, kusema,
Jeremiah replied, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying:

Tazama, Hanameli, mwana wa Shalumu, mjomba wako, atakujia, akisema, Jinunulie shamba langu lililoko Anathothi; maana haki ya ukombozi ni yako, ulinunue.
Behold! Hanamel, the son of your uncle Shallum, is coming to you to say, ‘Buy for yourself my field in Anathoth, for you have the right of redemption to buy it.’

Basi Hanameli, mwana wa mjomba wangu, akanijia ndani ya uwanda wa walinzi, sawasawa na lile neno la Bwana, akaniambia, Tafadhali, ulinunue shamba langu lililoko Anathothi, katika nchi ya Benyamini; maana haki ya urithi ni yako, na haki ya ukombozi ni yako; ujinunulie. Ndipo nikajua kama neno hili ni neno la Bwana.
Then, as the LORD had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me in the courtyard of the guard and urged me, ‘Please buy my field in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for you own the right of inheritance and redemption. Buy it for yourself.’” Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

Basi nikalinunua shamba lile lililoko Anathothi kwa Hanameli, mwana wa mjomba wangu, nikampimia fedha yake, shekeli kumi na saba za fedha.
So I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and I weighed out seventeen shekels of silver.

Nami nikaitia sahihi ile hati, na kuipiga muhuri, nikawaita mashahidi, nikampimia ile fedha katika mizani.
I signed and sealed the deed, called in witnesses, and weighed out the silver on the scales.

Nikaitwaa ile hati ya kununua, ile iliyopigwa muhuri kama ilivyo sheria na ada, na ile nayo iliyokuwa wazi;
Then I took the deed of purchase—the sealed copy with its terms and conditions, as well as the open copy—

na ile hati ya kununua nikampa Baruku, mwana wa Neria, mwana wa Maaseya, mbele ya uso wa Hanameli, mwana wa mjomba wangu, na mbele ya mashahidi wale walioitia sahihi hati ya kununua, mbele ya Wayahudi wote walioketi katika uwanda wa walinzi.
and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the sight of my cousin Hanamel and the witnesses who were signing the purchase agreement and all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard.

Nami nikamwagiza Baruku mbele yao, nikisema,
In their sight I instructed Baruch,

Bwana wa majeshi, Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, Twaa hati hizi, hati hii ya kununua, hati hii iliyopigwa muhuri, na hii iliyo wazi pia, ukazitie katika chombo cha udongo, zipate kukaa siku nyingi.
“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these deeds—both the sealed copy and the open copy of the deed of purchase—and put them in a clay jar to preserve them for a long time.

Maana Bwana wa majeshi, Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, Nyumba na mashamba na mashamba ya mizabibu yatanunuliwa tena katika nchi hii.
For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields, and vineyards will again be bought in this land.”

Hata nikiisha kumpa Baruku, mwana wa Neria, hati ile ya kununua, nalimwomba Bwana, nikisema,
After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD:

Aa! Bwana MUNGU, tazama, wewe umeziumba mbingu na nchi, kwa uweza wako mkuu na kwa mkono wako ulionyoshwa; hapana neno lililo gumu usiloliweza;
“Oh, Lord GOD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!

wewe uwarehemuye watu elfu nyingi, uwalipaye baba za watu uovu wao vifuani mwa watoto wao baada yao; Mungu aliye mkuu, aliye hodari, Bwana wa majeshi ndilo jina lake;
You show loving devotion to thousands but lay the iniquity of the fathers into the laps of their children after them, O great and mighty God whose name is the LORD of Hosts,

mkuu wa mashauri, mweza katika kutenda; ambaye macho yake yamefumbuka juu ya njia zote za wanadamu, kumpa kila mtu kwa kadiri ya njia zake, na kwa kadiri ya matunda ya matendo yake,
the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.

wewe uliyeweka ishara na ajabu katika nchi ya Misri hata siku hii ya leo, katika Israeli na kati ya watu wengine; na kujifanyia jina kama ilivyo leo;
You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and You do so to this very day, both in Israel and among all mankind. And You have made a name for Yourself, as is the case to this day.

You brought Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror.

You gave them this land that You had sworn to give their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

nao wakaingia, wakaimiliki; lakini hawakuitii sauti yako, wala hawakuenda katika sheria yako; hawakutenda neno lo lote katika haya uliyowaagiza wayatende; basi, kwa sababu hii umeleta juu yao mabaya haya yote;
They came in and possessed it, but they did not obey Your voice or walk in Your law. They failed to perform all that You commanded them to do, and so You have brought upon them all this disaster.

angalia maboma haya; wameujia mji huu ili kuutwaa; na mji huu umetiwa katika mikono ya Wakaldayo wanaopigana nao, kwa sababu ya upanga, na njaa, na tauni; na hayo uliyosema yamekuwa; na, tazama, wewe unayaona.
See how the siege ramps are mounted against the city to capture it. And by sword and famine and plague, the city has been given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened, as You now see!

Nawe, Ee Bwana MUNGU, umeniambia, Jinunulie shamba lile kwa fedha, ukawaite mashahidi; iwapo mji huu umetiwa katika mikono ya Wakaldayo; je! Itakuwaje?
Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, ‘Buy for yourself the field with silver and call in witnesses, even though the city has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans!’”

Ndipo neno la Bwana likamjia Yeremia, kusema,
Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

Tazama, mimi ni Bwana, Mungu wa wote wenye mwili; je! Kuna neno gumu lo lote nisiloliweza?
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me?
28
Basi, Bwana asema hivi, Tazama, nitautia mji huu katika mikono ya Wakaldayo, na katika mikono ya Nebukadreza, mfalme wa Babeli, naye atautwaa;
Therefore this is what the LORD says: Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who will capture it.

na Wakaldayo, wanaopigana na mji huu, watakuja, na kuutia moto mji huu, na kuuteketeza, pamoja na nyumba zake, ambazo juu ya dari zake wamemfukizia Baali uvumba, na kuwamiminia miungu mingine vinywaji, ili kunikasirisha.
And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city will come in, set it on fire, and burn it, along with the houses of those who provoked Me to anger by burning incense to Baal on their rooftops and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.

Maana wana wa Israeli, na wana wa Yuda, wametenda yaliyo mabaya tu mbele za uso wangu, tangu ujana wao; maana wana wa Israeli wamenichokoza tu kwa matendo ya mikono yao, asema Bwana.
For the children of Israel and of Judah have done nothing but evil in My sight from their youth; indeed, they have done nothing but provoke Me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.

Kwa kuwa mji huu umekuwa sababu ya kunitia hasira, na sababu ya ghadhabu yangu, tangu siku ile walipoujenga hata siku hii ya leo; ili niuondoe usiwe mbele za uso wangu;
For this city has aroused My wrath and fury from the day it was built until now. Therefore I will remove it from My presence

kwa sababu ya mabaya yote ya wana wa Israeli, na ya wana wa Yuda, waliyoyatenda ili kunitia hasira, wao, na wafalme wao, na wakuu wao, na makuhani wao, na manabii wao, na watu wa Yuda, na wenyeji wa Yerusalemu.
because of all the evil the children of Israel and of Judah have done to provoke Me to anger—they, their kings, their officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem.

Tena wamenigeuzia visogo vyao, wala si nyuso zao; ingawa naliwafundisha, niliondoka mapema na kuwafundisha, lakini hawakusikiliza ili wapate mafundisho.
They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline.

Bali waliweka machukizo yao ndani ya nyumba iliyoitwa kwa jina langu, ili kuinajisi.
They have placed their abominations in the house that bears My Name, and so have defiled it.
35
Tena walijenga mahali palipoinuka kwa Baali, palipo katika bonde la mwana wa Hinomu, ili kuwapitisha wana wao na binti zao katika moto kwa ajili ya Moleki, jambo nisilowaagiza; wala halikuingia moyoni mwangu kwamba walitende chukizo hilo; wapate kumkosesha Yuda.
They have built the high places of Baal in the Valley of Ben-hinnom to make their sons and daughters pass through the fire to Molech—something I never commanded them, nor had it ever entered My mind, that they should commit such an abomination and cause Judah to sin.

Basi sasa, Bwana, Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, katika habari za mji huu, ambao ninyi mnasema juu yake maneno haya, Umetiwa katika mikono ya mfalme wa Babeli, kwa upanga, na kwa njaa, na kwa tauni;
Now therefore, about this city of which you say, ‘It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword and famine and plague,’ this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:

Tazama, nitawakusanya, na kuwatoa katika nchi zote nilikowafukuza, katika hasira yangu, na uchungu wangu, na ghadhabu yangu nyingi; nami nitawaleta tena hata mahali hapa, nami nitawakalisha salama salimini;
I will surely gather My people from all the lands to which I have banished them in My furious anger and great wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them dwell in safety.
38
nao watakuwa watu wangu, nami nitakuwa Mungu wao;
They will be My people, and I will be their God.
39
nami nitawapa moyo mmoja na njia moja, wapate kunicha sikuzote; kwa mema yao, na ya watoto wao baada yao;
I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and for the good of their children after them.
40
nami nitafanya agano la milele pamoja nao, kwamba sitageuka wala kuwaacha, ili niwatendee mema; nami nitatia kicho changu mioyoni mwao, ili wasiniache.
I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will never turn away from Me.
41
Naam, nitafurahi juu yao niwatendee mema, nami nitawapanda katika nchi hii kweli kweli, kwa moyo wangu wote, na kwa roho yangu yote.
Yes, I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.
42
Maana Bwana asema hivi, Kama nilivyoleta mabaya makuu haya yote juu ya watu hawa, vivyo hivyo nitaleta juu yao mema hayo yote niliyowaahidia.
For this is what the LORD says: Just as I have brought all this great disaster on this people, so I will bring on them all the good I have promised them.
43
Na mashamba yatanunuliwa katika nchi hii, mnayoitaja, mkisema, Ni ukiwa, haina mwanadamu wala mnyama; imetiwa katika mikono ya Wakaldayo.
And fields will be bought in this land about which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans.’

Watu watanunua mashamba kwa fedha, watazitia sahihi hati zake, na kuzipiga muhuri, na kuwaita mashahidi, katika nchi ya Benyamini, na katika mahali palipo pande zote za Yerusalemu, na katika miji ya Yuda, na katika miji ya nchi yenye vilima, na katika miji ya nchi tambarare, na katika miji ya Negebu; kwa maana nitawarudisha wafungwa wao, asema Bwana.
Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.”
