Neno hili ndilo lililomjia Yeremia, kutoka kwa Bwana, kusema,
The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
Bwana Mungu wa Israeli, asema hivi, ya kwamba, Uyaandike kitabuni maneno hayo yote niliyokuambia.
Thus speaks Yahweh, the God of Israel, saying, Write you all the words that I have spoken to you in a book.
Kwa maana, tazama, siku zinakuja, asema Bwana, nitakapowarejeza watu wangu wa Israeli na Yuda waliofungwa, asema Bwana; nami nitawarudisha hata nchi niliyowapa baba zao, nao wataimiliki.
For, behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will turn again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, says Yahweh; and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
Na haya ndiyo maneno aliyosema Bwana, katika habari za Israeli, na katika habari za Yuda.
These are the words that Yahweh spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
Maana Bwana asema hivi, Tumesikia sauti ya tetemeko, na ya hofu, wala si ya amani.
For thus says Yahweh: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
Ulizeni sasa, mkaone kwamba mwanamume aona utungu wa uzazi; mbona, basi, ninaona kila mtu anaweka mikono yake viunoni, kama mwanamke aliye na utungu, na nyuso zote zimegeuka rangi.
Ask now, and see whether a man does travail with child: why do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?
Ole! Maana siku ile ni kuu, hata hapana inayofanana nayo, maana ni wakati wa taabu yake Yakobo; lakini ataokolewa nayo.
Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Na itakuwa katika siku ile, asema Bwana wa majeshi, nitaivunja nira yake itoke shingoni mwako, nami nitavipasua vifungo vyako; wala wageni hawatamtumikisha tena;
It shall come to pass in that day, says Yahweh of Hosts, that I will break his yoke from off your neck, and will burst your bonds; and strangers shall no more make him their bondservant;
bali watamtumikia Bwana, Mungu wao, na Daudi, mfalme wao, nitakayemwinua kwa ajili yao.
but they shall serve Yahweh their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up to them.
Kwa sababu hiyo usiogope, Ee Yakobo, mtumishi wangu, asema Bwana; wala usifadhaike, Ee Israeli; kwa maana, tazama, nitakuokoa toka mbali, na wazao wako toka nchi ya uhamisho wao; na Yakobo atarudi, naye atatulia na kustarehe, wala hapana mtu atakayemtia hofu.
Therefore don't you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
Maana mimi ni pamoja nawe, asema Bwana, nikuokoe; maana nitawakomesha kabisa mataifa yote huko nilikokutawanya, bali sitakukomesha wewe kabisa; lakini nitakurudi kwa hukumu, wala sitakuacha bila adhabu.
For I am with you, says Yahweh, to save you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have scattered you, but I will not make a full end of you; but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.
Maana Bwana asema hivi, Maumivu yako hayaponyekani, na jeraha yako ni kubwa.
For thus says Yahweh, Your hurt is incurable, and your wound grievous.
Hapana mtu wa kukutetea; kwa jeraha yako huna dawa ziponyazo.
There is none to plead your cause, that you may be bound up: you have no healing medicines.
Wote wakupendao wamekusahau; hawakutafuti; maana nimekujeruhi kwa jeraha ya adui, kwa adhabu ya mtu mkatili; kwa sababu ya ukubwa wa uovu wako, kwa sababu dhambi zako zilikuwa zimeongezeka.
All your lovers have forgotten you; they don't seek you: for I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased.
Mbona unalilia maumivu yako? Hayaponyeki maumivu yako; kwa sababu ya ukubwa wa uovu wako, kwa sababu dhambi zako zimeongezeka, nimekutenda haya.
Why cry you for your hurt? your pain is incurable: for the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins were increased, I have done these things to you.
Basi, watu wote wakulao wataliwa; na adui zako wote watakwenda kufungwa; kila mmoja wao; na hao waliokuteka nyara watatekwa; na wote waliokuwinda nitawafanya kuwa mawindo.
Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured; and all your adversaries, everyone of them, shall go into captivity; and those who despoil you shall be a spoil, and all who prey on you will I give for a prey.
Maana nitakurudishia afya, nami nitakuponya jeraha zako, asema Bwana, kwa sababu wamekuita, mwenye kutupwa, wakisema, Ni Sayuni, ambao hapana mtu autakaye.
For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, [saying], It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.
Bwana asema hivi, Tazama, nitarudisha tena hema za Yakobo zilizohamishwa, na kuyahurumia makao yake; nao mji huo utajengwa juu ya magofu yake wenyewe, nalo jumba litakaliwa, kama ilivyokuwa desturi yake.
Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places; and the city shall be built on its own hill, and the palace shall be inhabited after its own manner.
Tena kwao itasikiwa shukrani, na sauti yao wachangamkao; nami nitawazidisha, wala hawatakuwa wachache; tena nitawatukuza, wala hawatakuwa wanyonge.
Out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Watoto wao nao watakuwa kama zamani, na kusanyiko lao litathibitika mbele zangu, nami nitawaadhibu wote wawaoneao.
Their children also shall be as before, and their congregation shall be established before me; and I will punish all who oppress them.
Na mkuu wao atakuwa mtu wa kwao wenyewe, naye mwenye kuwatawala atakuwa mtu wa jamaa yao; nami nitamkaribisha, naye atanikaribia; maana ni nani aliye na moyo wa kuthubutu kunikaribia? Asema Bwana.
Their prince shall be of themselves, and their ruler shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach to me: for who is he who has had boldness to approach to me? says Yahweh.
Nanyi mtakuwa watu wangu, nami nitakuwa Mungu wenu.
You shall be my people, and I will be your God.
Tazama, tufani ya Bwana, yaani, ghadhabu yake, imetokea tufani ya kudumu; itawaangukia waovu vichwani.
Behold, the tempest of Yahweh, [even his] wrath, is gone forth, a sweeping tempest: it shall burst on the head of the wicked.
Hasira kali ya Bwana haitarudi, hata atakapokwisha kutenda, hata atakapokwisha kuyatimiza makusudi ya moyo wake; katika siku za mwisho mtayafahamu haya.
The fierce anger of Yahweh shall not return, until he has executed, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days you shall understand it.
