Vestine & Dorcas - YEBO [Nitawale] Lyrics

Lyrics

Mwokozi wangu ,Nakuitaji zaidi Na Mwoyo wangu , Unaliya Uwepo wako Nimejalibu on my own ,Lakini Siwezi Nakutegemeya Usiniache kamwe

Nikiwa bado napumua ,Jina lako ndilo nitajivunia Tena Sitaki kitu ca kunikataza ,Kuwa chombo chako

Najua kwamba mimi ni wako, Unanipenda Tena Sana Nuru yako imenitowa Gizani Sitaogopa kamwe

Chorus: Nitawale Sasa na Hata Milele Bwana Overpower All of me , the way you truly Desire Natamani kuongozwa na Mkono wako Wenye nguvu The Fresh Air into my heart Amen - Amen -Amen YEBO- YEBO Jesu , YEBO - YEBO Jesu YEBO -YEBO Ngidinga wena

E’Mungu nitumikishe ,Katika fahida za mbingu Nisimamiye vizuli ,Ufalme wako Ndani ya Ulimwengu

Najaze nguvu nipambane, Uzaifu wangu uondowe Nidhalawu mishale ya machungu Hadui anaonipiga

Hawa wanataja Magari ,Wengine wanataja mafarasi Bali sisi Tunalitaja Hilo jina la bwana x 3

Chorus: Nitawale Sasa na Hata Milele Bwana Overpower All of me , the way you truly Desire Natamani kuongozwa na Mkono wako Wenye nguvu The Fresh Air into my heart Amen - Amen -Amen YEBO- YEBO Jesu , YEBO - YEBO Jesu YEBO -YEBO Ngidinga wena

Najua kwamba mimi ni wako, Unanipenda Tena Sana Nuru yako imenitowa Gizani Sitaogopa kamwe

Hayayaya, Sitaogopa Kamwe/ Bonde Mauti Sitaogopa kamwe/ Sitaogopa Sitaogopa kamwe Kwenye Shimo la simba / Sitaogopa kamwe Katika Giza tupu/Sitaogopa kamwe

Meaning & Inspiration

When Vestine and Dorcas dropped YEBO [Nitawale] early this March, they hit on something that the modern church often glosses over—the desperate, unvarnished surrender to the lordship of Christ. It is easy to sing about blessings, but these young voices chose to sing about the death of self. When they cry out, "Nitawale," which means "rule over me," they are echoing the cry of the Apostle Paul in Galatians 2:20, acknowledging that the life they live now is not their own, but Christ living in them. They start by admitting that they tried to do things on their own and failed, a confession that brings us right back to the truth in John 15:5: apart from Him, we can do absolutely nothing.

The track moves quickly from personal need to a declaration of total allegiance. There is a grit here that feels refreshingly biblical. When they sing about not fearing the arrows of the enemy or the pit of lions, they are grounding their confidence in the same assurance found in Psalm 23. It is not about the absence of trouble, but the presence of the Shepherd who walks through the valley with us. They make a bold contrast, noting how others boast in chariots and horses, while they fix their gaze on the Name of the Lord. It is a direct nod to Psalm 20:7, reminding us that worldly securities are paper-thin compared to the ironclad protection of the Almighty.

The plea to "overpower all of me" is the most convicting part of the song. Most of us want Jesus to be our guest, not our governor, yet these lyrics demand a total takeover. They want His strength to replace their weakness, essentially asking for the exchange described in 2 Corinthians 12:9. By the time they hit the chorus, the song stops being a performance and starts feeling like a prayer meeting. They are inviting the breath of heaven to fill the hollow spaces of their hearts, turning away from their own agendas to become vessels for His kingdom. Surrender is not a one-time event, but a daily death to the ego, and Vestine and Dorcas capture that tension perfectly. The theology here is simple but lethal to the pride that keeps us from seeing God clearly. If we actually let Him rule as they suggest, every other ambition would inevitably wither under the weight of His glory.
