Lyrics
Msifuni ,Yesu ndiye mkombozi; Imbeni ya pendo zake kuu,
Sujuduni,malaika mlioko, Jina lake liwe na sifa kuu.
Kama vile mchunga uchungavyo Vivyo sisi kutwa atachunga.
Msifuni mlio wake watoto Msifuni aliye mchunga.
Msifuni,Yesu ndiye mkombozi; Akateswa tupate ongoka;
Ndiye Mwamba,Dhamana ya kuokoka;
Sujuduni kwake muangikwa, Yesu aliyeudhiwa na hamu Kwa pendo za baba yake Mungu. Aliyefyolewa na kusulubiwa. Msifuni ndilo letu fungu.
Msifuni,Yesu ndiye Mkombozi; Shindukeni,enyi malango juu;

Meaning & Inspiration
“Msifuni Yesu Ndiye Mkombozi” is a Swahili hymn of praise centered on Jesus as Redeemer, Shepherd, suffering Savior, and eternal King. The opening stanza calls worshipers and angels to honor his name, then pictures his care through the familiar image of a shepherd guarding a flock. Praise arises from both Christ’s saving work and his continuing care for those described as his children.
The second stanza turns toward the cross, presenting Jesus as the rock and assurance of salvation. Its language joins suffering, divine love, and redemption without separating worship from the cost of deliverance. The final stanza expands the scene: gates are summoned to open, the Savior receives a crown, and his future reign is anticipated. These images closely echo Psalm 24’s entrance of the King of glory, while John 10 supports the shepherd theme. The song therefore moves from daily protection through crucifixion to kingship, making praise the fitting response throughout.
