Hazina contrasts treasure stored with God against possessions that decay and pass away. The lyrics repeatedly place the singer’s investment in heaven, linking that choice with offering an entire life as a sacrifice to God. Earthly things are treated as temporary and unable to provide a secure basis for boasting, while fitness before God becomes more desirable than worldly gain.
Several lines closely echo the teaching of Jesus about storing treasure in heaven, where moth and decay cannot destroy it. The statement that the heart remains where its treasure is makes that connection especially direct. The closing appeal to make purses that do not wear out also recalls the instruction recorded in Luke. Alongside those images, the language of presenting life as a sacrifice corresponds with the call in Romans to offer the body to God.
