Na wakati uo huo walikuwapo watu waliompasha habari ya Wagalilaya wale ambao Pilato alichanganya damu yao na dhabihu zao.
At that time some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

Akawajibu akawaambia, Je! Mwadhani ya kwamba Wagalilaya hao walikuwa wenye dhambi kuliko Wagalilaya wote, hata wakapatwa na mambo hayo?
To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this way?

Nawaambia, Sivyo; lakini msipotubu, ninyi nyote mtaangamia vivyo hivyo.
No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.

Au wale kumi na wanane, walioangukiwa na mnara huko Siloamu, ukawaua, mwadhani ya kwamba wao walikuwa wakosaji kuliko watu wote waliokaa Yerusalemu?
Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem?

Nawaambia, Sivyo; lakini msipotubu, ninyi nyote mtaangamia vivyo hivyo.
No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Akanena mfano huu; Mtu mmoja alikuwa na mtini umepandwa katika shamba lake la mizabibu; akaenda akitafuta matunda juu yake, asipate.
Then Jesus told this parable: “A man had a fig tree that was planted in his vineyard. He went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.

Akamwambia mtunzaji wa shamba la mizabibu, Tazama, miaka mitatu hii naja nikitafuta matunda juu ya mtini huu, nisipate kitu; uukate, mbona hata nchi unaiharibu?
So he said to the keeper of the vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’

Akajibu akamwambia, Bwana, uuache mwaka huu nao, hata niupalilie, niutilie samadi;
‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone again this year, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

nao ukizaa matunda baadaye, vema! La, usipozaa, ndipo uukate.
If it bears fruit next year, fine. But if not, you can cut it down.’”

Siku ya sabato alikuwa akifundisha katika sinagogi mojawapo.
One Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues,

Na tazama, palikuwa na mwanamke aliyekuwa na pepo wa udhaifu muda wa miaka kumi na minane, naye amepindana, hawezi kujinyosha kabisa.
and a woman there had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was hunched over and could not stand up straight.

Yesu alipomwona alimwita, akamwambia, Mama, umefunguliwa katika udhaifu wako.
When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said, “Woman, you are set free from your disability.”

Akaweka mikono yake juu yake, naye akanyoka mara hiyo, akamtukuza Mungu.
Then He placed His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and began to glorify God.
14
Basi mkuu wa sinagogi alikasirika kwa sababu Yesu amemponya mtu siku ya sabato, akajibu, akawaambia mkutano, Kuna siku sita zifaazo kufanya kazi, basi njoni mponywe katika siku hizo, wala si katika siku ya sabato.
But the synagogue leader was indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the crowd. “So come and be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”

Lakini Bwana akajibu akasema, Enyi wanafiki, kila mmoja wenu, je! Hamfungui ng'ombe wake au punda wake siku ya sabato katika zizi, aende naye kumnywesha?
“You hypocrites!” the Lord replied. “Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it to water?

Na huyu mwanamke, aliye wa uzao wa Ibrahimu, ambaye Shetani amemfunga miaka kumi na minane hii, haikupasa afunguliwe kifungo hiki siku ya sabato?
Then should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released from her bondage on the Sabbath day?”

Aliposema haya wakatahayari wote walioshindana naye; mkutano wote wakafurahi kwa sababu ya mambo matukufu yaliyotendwa na yeye.
When Jesus said this, all His adversaries were humiliated. And the whole crowd rejoiced at all the glorious things He was doing.
18
Kisha alisema, Ufalme wa Mungu umefanana na nini? Nami niufananishe na nini?
Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? To what can I compare it?
19
Umefanana na punje ya haradali aliyotwaa mtu akaitupa katika shamba lake; ikamea, ikawa mti; ndege wa angani wakakaa katika matawi yake.
It is like a mustard seed that a man tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”
20
Akasema mara ya pili, Niufananishe na nini ufalme wa Mungu?
Again He asked, “To what can I compare the kingdom of God?
21
Umefanana na chachu aliyotwaa mwanamke akaisitiri ndani ya pishi tatu za unga, hata ukachacha wote pia.
It is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”
22
Naye alikuwa akipita katika miji na vijiji, akifundisha, katika safari yake kwenda Yerusalemu.
Then Jesus traveled throughout the towns and villages, teaching as He made His way toward Jerusalem.

Mtu mmoja akamwuliza, Je! Bwana, watu wanaookolewa ni wachache? Akawaambia,
“Lord,” someone asked Him, “will only a few people be saved?” Jesus answered,

Jitahidini kuingia katika mlango ulio mwembamba, kwa maana nawaambia ya kwamba wengi watataka kuingia, wasiweze.
“Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.
25
Wakati mwenye nyumba atakaposimama na kuufunga mlango, nanyi mkaanza kusimama nje na kuubisha mlango, mkisema, Ee Bwana, tufungulie; yeye atajibu na kuwaambia, Siwajui mtokako;
After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’

ndipo mtakapoanza kusema, Tulikula na kunywa mbele yako, nawe ulifundisha katika njia zetu.
Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
27
Naye atasema, Nawaambia, Siwajui mtokako; ondokeni kwangu ninyi nyote mlio wafanyaji wa udhalimu.
And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers.’
28
Ndipo kutakapokuwa na kilio na kusaga meno, mtakapomwona Ibrahimu na Isaka na Yakobo na manabii wote katika ufalme wa Mungu, nanyi wenyewe mmetupwa nje.
There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are thrown out.

Nao watakuja watu toka mashariki na magharibi, na toka kaskazini na kusini, nao wataketi chakulani katika ufalme wa Mungu.
People will come from east and west and north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
30
Na tazama, wako walio wa mwisho watakaokuwa wa kwanza, na wa kwanza watakaokuwa wa mwisho.
And indeed, some who are last will be first, and some who are first will be last.”
31
Saa ile ile Mafarisayo kadha wa kadha walimwendea, wakamwambia, Toka hapa, uende mahali pengine, kwa sababu Herode anataka kukuua.
At that very hour, some Pharisees came to Jesus and told Him, “Leave this place and get away, because Herod wants to kill You.”
32
Akawaambia, Nendeni, mkamwambie yule mbweha, Tazama, leo na kesho natoa pepo na kuponya wagonjwa, siku ya tatu nakamilika.
But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.’

Pamoja na hayo imenipasa kushika njia yangu leo na kesho na kesho kutwa; kwa kuwa haimkini nabii aangamie nje ya Yerusalemu.
Nevertheless, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day, for it is not admissible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.

Ee Yerusalemu, Yerusalemu, uwauaye manabii na kuwapiga kwa mawe waliotumwa kwako, mara ngapi nimetaka kuwakusanya watoto wako kama vile kuku avikusanyavyo vifaranga vyake chini ya mbawa zake, wala hamkutaka.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!

Angalieni, mmeachiwa nyumba yenu! Nami nawaambia, Hamtaniona tena kamwe, hata mtakaposema, Amebarikiwa ajaye kwa jina la Bwana.
Look, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
