Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Na wewe, mwanadamu, je! Utauhukumu, utauhukumu mji huu wa damu? Basi uujulishe machukizo yake yote.
“As for you, son of man, will you judge her? Will you pass judgment on the city of bloodshed? Then confront her with all her abominations

Nawe utasema, Bwana MUNGU asema hivi; Mji umwagao damu ndani yake, ili wakati wake upate kuja; mji ufanyao vinyago juu ya nafsi yake, ili ujitie unajisi!
and tell her that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O city who brings her own doom by shedding blood within her walls and making idols to defile herself,

Umekuwa na hatia katika damu yako uliyomwaga, nawe umekuwa na unajisi kwa vinyago vyako ulivyovifanya; nawe umezileta karibu siku zako, nawe umefika karibu na miaka yako; basi, kwa sababu ya hayo, nimekufanya kuwa lawama kwa mataifa, na kuwa dhihaka katika nchi zote.
you are guilty of the blood you have shed, and you are defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close and have come to the end of your years. Therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations and a mockery to all the lands.

Zilizo karibu, na zilizo mbali nawe, zitakudhihaki, Ewe mchafu, uliyejaa fujo.
Those near and far will mock you, O infamous city, full of turmoil.

Tazama, wakuu wa Israeli, kila mmoja kwa kadiri ya nguvu zake, wamekuwamo ndani yako, ili kumwaga damu.
See how every prince of Israel within you has used his power to shed blood.
7
Ndani yako wamedharau baba na mama; kati yako wamewatenda wageni udhalimu; ndani yako wamewaonea yatima na mjane.
Father and mother are treated with contempt. Within your walls the foreign resident is exploited, the fatherless and the widow are oppressed.

Umevidharau vitu vyangu vitakatifu, umezitia unajisi sabato zangu.
You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.
9
Wasingiziaji wamekuwamo ndani yako, ili kumwaga damu; na ndani yako wamekula juu ya milima; kati yako wamefanya uasherati.
Among you are slanderous men bent on bloodshed; within you are those who eat on the mountain shrines and commit acts of indecency.

Ndani yako wamefunua uchi wa baba zao; ndani yako wamemfanyia nguvu mwanamke asiye safi wakati wa kutengwa kwake.
In you they have uncovered the nakedness of their fathers; in you they violate women during their menstrual impurity.

Na mtu mmoja amefanya chukizo pamoja na mke wa jirani yake; na mtu mwingine amemharibu mke wa mwanawe kwa uasherati; na mtu mwingine ndani yako amemfanyia nguvu umbu lake, binti ya babaye.
One man commits an abomination with his neighbor’s wife; another wickedly defiles his daughter-in-law; and yet another violates his sister, his own father’s daughter.

Ndani yako wamepokea rushwa ili kumwaga damu; umepokea riba na faida; nawe kwa choyo umepata mapato kwa kuwadhulumu jirani zako, nawe umenisahau mimi, asema Bwana MUNGU.
In you they take bribes to shed blood. You engage in usury, take excess interest, and extort your neighbors. But Me you have forgotten, declares the Lord GOD.

Basi, tazama, nimeipigia kofi hiyo faida uliyopata kwa njia isiyo haki, na hiyo damu yako iliyokuwa kati yako.
Now look, I strike My hands together against your unjust gain and against the blood you have shed in your midst.
14
Je! Moyo wako waweza kuvumilia, au mkono wako waweza kuwa hodari, katika siku zile nitakapokutenda mambo? Mimi, Bwana, nimenena neno hili, tena nitalitenda.
Will your courage endure or your hands be strong in the day I deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will act.

Nami nitakutawanya kati ya mataifa, na kukutapanya kati ya nchi mbalimbali; nami nitauteketeza uchafu wako, ili ukutoke.
I will disperse you among the nations and scatter you throughout the lands; I will purge your uncleanness.
16
Nawe utatiwa unajisi ndani ya nafsi yako, mbele ya macho ya mataifa; nawe utajua ya kuwa mimi ndimi Bwana.
And when you have defiled yourself in the eyes of the nations, then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

Neno la Bwana likanijia, kusema,
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Mwanadamu, nyumba ya Israeli imekuwa taka za fedha kwangu; wote wamekuwa shaba, na bati, na chuma, na risasi, kati ya tanuu; wamekuwa taka za fedha.
“Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me. All of them are copper, tin, iron, and lead inside the furnace; they are but the dross of silver.

Basi Bwana MUNGU asema hivi; Kwa sababu ninyi nyote mmekuwa taka za fedha, tazama, nitawakusanya kati ya Yerusalemu.
Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘Because all of you have become dross, behold, I will gather you into Jerusalem.
20
Kama vile watu wakusanyavyo fedha, na shaba, na chuma, na risasi, na bati, kati ya tanuu, ili kuvifukutia moto na kuviyeyusha; ndivyo nitakavyowakusanya ninyi katika hasira yangu, na ghadhabu yangu, nami nitawalaza huko, na kuwayeyusha.
Just as one gathers silver, copper, iron, lead, and tin into the furnace to melt with a fiery blast, so I will gather you in My anger and wrath, leave you there, and melt you.

Naam, nitawakusanya, na kuwafukutia moto wa ghadhabu yangu, nanyi mtayeyushwa kati yake.
Yes, I will gather you together and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you will be melted within the city.
22
Kama fedha iyeyushwavyo kati ya tanuu, ndivyo mtakavyoyeyushwa kati yake; nanyi mtajua ya kuwa mimi, Bwana, nimemwaga ghadhabu yangu juu yenu.
As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted within the city. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out My wrath upon you.’”

And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Mwanadamu, uiambie nchi, Wewe u nchi isiyosafika, wala kunyeshewa mvua siku ya ghadhabu.
“Son of man, say to her, ‘In the day of indignation, you are a land that has not been cleansed, upon which no rain has fallen.’
25
Fitina ya manabii wake imo ndani yake, kama simba angurumaye akirarua mawindo; wamekula roho za watu; hutwaa kwa nguvu hazina na vitu vya thamani; wameongeza hesabu ya wajane wake ndani yake.
The conspiracy of the princes in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They devour the people, seize the treasures and precious things, and multiply the widows within her.

Makuhani wake wameihalifu sheria yangu, wametia unajisi vitu vyangu vitakatifu; hawakuweka tofauti ya vitu vitakatifu na vitu vya kutumiwa sikuzote; wala hawakuwafundisha watu kupambanua vitu vichafu na vitu vilivyo safi, nao wamefumba macho yao, wasiziangalie sabato zangu, nami nimetiwa unajisi kati yao.
Her priests do violence to My law and profane My holy things. They make no distinction between the holy and the common, and they fail to distinguish between the clean and the unclean. They disregard My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

Wakuu wake kati yake wamekuwa kama mbwa-mwitu wakirarua mawindo; ili kumwaga damu, na kuharibu roho za watu, wapate faida kwa njia isiyo halali.
Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood, and destroying lives for dishonest gain.
28
Na manabii wake wamewapakia chokaa isiyokorogwa vema, wakiona ubatili, na kuwatabiria maneno ya uongo, wakisema, Bwana MUNGU asema hivi; iwapo Bwana hakusema neno.
Her prophets whitewash these deeds by false visions and lying divinations, saying, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken.

Watu wa nchi wametumia udhalimu, wamenyang'anya kwa nguvu; naam, wamewatenda jeuri maskini na wahitaji, nao wamewaonea wageni bila haki.
The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice.

Nami nikatafuta mtu miongoni mwao, atakayelitengeneza boma, na kusimama mbele zangu mahali palipobomoka, kwa ajili ya nchi, nisije nikaiharibu, lakini sikuona mtu.
I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one.

Kwa sababu hiyo nimemwaga ghadhabu yangu juu yao; nimewateketeza kwa moto wa hasira yangu; nami nimeileta njia yao wenyewe juu ya vichwa vyao, asema Bwana MUNGU.
So I have poured out My indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My fury. I have brought their ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
