“Yesu ni Wimbo Wangu” by Groupe Chandelier de Gloire is a Swahili song that calls Jesus “my song” and “the joy of my heart.” The verses name Him as friend, God, and beloved, and the singer says he will not leave Him: “Niende wapi nimekuchagua wewe,” meaning “Where would I go, I have chosen You.”
The second verse recalls the day of receiving Jesus, when the soul was filled with hope and joy, and says that He is the one to lean on and the nearby help. This is close to Psalm 46:1 on God as a present help in trouble. The bridge declares that Jesus is always his and knows his life night and day, which echoes Psalm 139.
