Nani atayesimama mbele zako

Nguvu zako bwana wangu zinatisha

Nini bwana wangu iliyo ngumu kwako

Meaning & Inspiration
“Sijaona kama wewe,” which means “I have not seen one like You,” is a Swahili worship song by Patrick Kubuya. It opens by calling God the creator of heaven and earth and the king whom the singer’s soul praises, and it says that evil is defeated by His name. The question “Who will stand before You?” stresses His unmatched authority.
The next verses speak of a God who is one from the beginning, whose knowledge is great, whose might is fearful, and who is a refuge for generations. The sea obeys Him and the mountains tremble at His voice, and the singer asks what is too hard for Him. This is close to Psalm 90:1-2 and Jeremiah 32:17, and the mountains recall Psalm 114:4.
The long ending repeats “Ni wewe bwana” (It is You, Lord) and “Ni wewe tangu mwanzo” (It is You from the beginning), then asks the Lord to receive all glory and praise. The song’s message is God’s uniqueness and the worship it deserves.
