Basi Myahudi ana ziada gani? Na kutahiriwa kwafaa nini?
What, then, is the advantage of being a Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision?

Kwafaa sana kwa kila njia. Kwanza kwa kuwa wamekabidhiwa mausia ya Mungu.
Much in every way. First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

Ni nini, basi, ikiwa baadhi yao hawakuamini? Je! Kutokuamini kwao kutaubatili uaminifu wa Mungu?
What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness?

Hasha! Mungu aonekane kuwa amini na kila mtu mwongo; kama ilivyoandikwa, Ili ujulike kuwa una haki katika maneno yako, Ukashinde uingiapo katika hukumu.
Certainly not! Let God be true and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be proved right when You speak and victorious when You judge.”

Lakini, ikiwa udhalimu wetu waithibitisha haki ya Mungu, tuseme nini? Je! Mungu ni dhalimu aletaye ghadhabu? (Nasema kwa jinsi ya kibinadamu.)
But if our unrighteousness highlights the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unjust to inflict His wrath on us? I am speaking in human terms.

Hasha! Kwa maana hapo Mungu atawezaje kuuhukumu ulimwengu?
Certainly not! In that case, how could God judge the world?

Lakini, ikiwa kweli ya Mungu imezidi kudhihirisha utukufu wake kwa sababu ya uongo wangu, mbona mimi ningali nahukumiwa kuwa ni mwenye dhambi?
However, if my falsehood accentuates God’s truthfulness, to the increase of His glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?

Kwa nini tusiseme (kama tulivyosingiziwa, na kama wengine wanavyokaza kusema ya kwamba twasema hivyo), Na tufanye mabaya, ili yaje mema? Ambao kuhukumiwa kwao kuna haki.
Why not say, as some slanderously claim that we say, “Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is deserved!

Ni nini basi? Tu bora kuliko wengine? La! Hata kidogo. Kwa maana tumekwisha kuwashitaki Wayahudi na Wayunani ya kwamba pia wamekuwa chini ya dhambi;
What then? Are we any better? Not at all. For we have already made the charge that Jews and Greeks alike are all under sin.

kama ilivyoandikwa, ya kwamba, Hakuna mwenye haki hata mmoja.
As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.

Hakuna afahamuye; Hakuna amtafutaye Mungu.
There is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

Wote wamepotoka, wameoza wote pia; Hakuna mtenda mema, la! Hata mmoja.
All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

Koo lao ni kaburi wazi, Kwa ndimi zao wametumia hila. Sumu ya fira i chini ya midomo yao.
“Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The venom of vipers is on their lips.”

Vinywa vyao vimejaa laana na uchungu.
“Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

Miguu yao ina mbio kumwaga damu.
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;

Uharibifu na mashaka yamo njiani mwao.
ruin and misery lie in their wake,

Wala njia ya amani hawakuijua.
and the way of peace they have not known.”

Kumcha Mungu hakupo machoni pao.
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

Basi twajua ya kuwa mambo yote inenayo torati huyanena kwa hao walio chini ya torati, ili kila kinywa kifumbwe, na ulimwengu wote uwe chini ya hukumu ya Mungu;
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

kwa sababu hakuna mwenye mwili atakayehesabiwa haki mbele zake kwa matendo ya sheria; kwa maana kutambua dhambi huja kwa njia ya sheria.
Therefore no one will be justified in His sight by works of the law. For the law merely brings awareness of sin.

Lakini sasa, haki ya Mungu imedhihirika pasipo sheria; inashuhudiwa na torati na manabii;
But now, apart from the law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, as attested by the Law and the Prophets.
22
ni haki ya Mungu iliyo kwa njia ya imani katika Yesu Kristo kwa wote waaminio. Maana hakuna tofauti;
And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction,

kwa sababu wote wamefanya dhambi, na kupungukiwa na utukufu wa Mungu;
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24
wanahesabiwa haki bure kwa neema yake, kwa njia ya ukombozi ulio katika Kristo Yesu;
and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

ambaye Mungu amekwisha kumweka awe upatanisho kwa njia ya imani katika damu yake,ili aonyeshe haki yake ,kwa sababu ya kuziachilia katika ustahimili wa MUNGU dhambi zote zilzotangulia kufanywa.
God presented Him as an atoning sacrifice in His blood through faith, in order to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand.

apate kuonyesha haki yake wakati huu, ili awe mwenye haki na mwenye kumhesabu haki yeye amwaminiye Yesu.
He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

Ku wapi, basi, kujisifu? Kumefungiwa nje. Kwa sheria ya namna gani? Kwa sheria ya matendo? La! Bali kwa sheria ya imani.
Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on that of faith.

Basi, twaona ya kuwa mwanadamu huhesabiwa haki kwa imani pasipo matendo ya sheria.
For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

Au je! Mungu ni Mungu wa Wayahudi tu? Siye Mungu wa Mataifa pia? Naam, ni Mungu wa Mataifa pia;
Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,

kama kwa kweli Mungu ni mmoja, atakayewahesabia haki wale waliotahiriwa katika imani, nao wale wasiotahiriwa atawahesabia haki kwa njia ya imani iyo hiyo.
since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.

Basi, je! Twaibatilisha sheria kwa imani hiyo? Hasha! Kinyume cha hayo twaithibitisha sheria.
Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Certainly not! Instead, we uphold the law.
