Meaning & Inspiration
“Majeshi ya Malaika” by Zoravo is a Swahili worship recording about the holiness of God. The title means “armies of angels,” and the opening lines picture the hosts of angels lifting their voices to say “Mtakatifu ni Bwana,” the Lord is holy. Thousands upon thousands join, and then the line is turned to the church: “Na sisi watoto wako,” and we, Your children, lift our voice and say the same.
The scene is close to Isaiah 6:3, where the seraphim cry holy, and to Revelation 5:11-12, where thousands upon thousands of angels praise the Lamb. The idea that God’s people join in recalls Hebrews 12:22 and Psalm 99:9, which calls the Lord holy.
The refrain “Ni Bwana, ni Bwana, mtakatifu ni Bwana” is repeated many times and a short bridge draws out the word “Bwana.” The song’s message is simple: the same holiness that heaven declares is declared on earth by those who belong to Him.
