Lyrics

Chorus (x3)

Hili limeniliza sana
Hili limeniumiza sana
Awamu hii nimeumia sana
Mungu wangu nisaidie eeh
Mbona umeniacha sana
Katika hili nimeumia sana aaah
Nakiri nakuhitaji sana
Mungu wangu nisaidie eeeh

Verse 1

Ungeniuliza nisingekubali mimi
Mpendwa wangu nimeache aende eeh
Rafiki yangu kipenzi aende
Mungu hapana kwangu si sawa aah
Ile mipango imezima
Kwako ni sawa ila nabaki peke yangu
Nitafanyaje nimeachwa peke yangu
Mungu hapana, kwangu si sawa aah
Ila naelewa Mungu uuh
Kazi yako haina kosa aaah
Nakushukuru kwa yote
Mapenzi yako yatimizwe eeeh

Verse 2

Japo nawaza nafarijika bwana
Kwamba kunayo siku tutakutana nae
Ile asubuhi njema uloiweka pale
Kwa watu wanao kuamini yesu
Nitie nguvu baba nimechoka
Moyo unauma nimechoka aaah
Nisaidie baba nimechoka
Peke yangu mimi siwezi

Bridge

Tufundishe Mungu wetu
Kuhesabu siku zetu
Japo dhoruba na shida
Tusichoke kukutumikia

Outro (x2)

Mtu wa watu huyu
Mwenye upendo huyu
Mpatanishi huyu
Kaenda vipi tena aah

Meaning & Inspiration

“Imeniuma Sana” by Zabron Singers is a Swahili song of grief that is also a prayer. The title means “It hurt me a lot,” and the chorus repeats that this loss has hurt deeply, asks God for help, and admits how much the singer needs Him. The first verse speaks of a loved one and friend who has gone, plans that have been put out, and the pain of being left alone.

The song does not stay only in sorrow. The singer says they understand that God’s work has no fault, thanks Him for everything, and asks that His will be done. The second verse finds comfort in the hope of meeting again on a good morning for those who believe in Jesus, while still asking for strength because the heart is tired.

The bridge asks God to teach them to count their days and not to tire of serving Him. This is close to Psalm 90:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 and Psalm 34:18, which speak of numbering days, hope for those who die in Christ, and God’s nearness to the brokenhearted.
