Lyrics
Mungu wetu ni mkuu ni mwaminifu
Mtoshelevu
kwetu huu hata milele,
Akiahidi anatenda, ukimwamini yeye tu.
Na neno lake halirudi kwake bure ni Mungu.
Anadumu milele
ni mwaminifu Elishadai Elishadai
Akiahidi ana tenda, ukimwamini yeye tu.
Na neno lake halirudi kwake bure ni Mungu.
Tumebarikiwa na Mungu mwenyewe,
Tunaujasiri ndani ya Yesu.
Tumebarikiwa wengine waone,
Waokolewe wamjue Yesu.
(Baba Baba)
Tupate wapi mwingine, kama Wewe?
(Yesu Yesu)
Unatutosha.
Unatupa vyote tukuombavyo,
( double double)
Hatupungukiwi tukiwa nawe
Yahwe tu pate wapi mwingine,
Yahwe unatutosha.

Meaning & Inspiration
Double Double celebrates God as faithful, sufficient, and dependable in every promise. The opening lines praise divine greatness before turning to the reliability of God’s word: what God declares does not return empty. Blessing is not described only as private comfort. The song connects it with courage in Jesus and with a visible witness through which others may come to know salvation. Its repeated names for God and its question about finding anyone comparable give the lyric a direct language of praise.
The statement about God’s word closely echoes Isaiah 55:11, where the word sent forth accomplishes its purpose. The confidence that God supplies what is needed aligns with Philippians 4:19, while the desire that others see and know Jesus reflects the outward movement of Christian witness in Acts 1:8. The repeated affirmation that God is enough holds these ideas together. Provision, confidence, and testimony all flow from trust in God’s character rather than confidence in human resources.
