Meaning & Inspiration
Ahadi is a Swahili song about waiting for the promise of God. The opening says that the singer waited for a promise from God to answer a prayer, waited for the time of God, and found that He is never late nor early. The next section urges others to wait for the promise because He will answer, and to wait for God's time because He neither delays nor comes too soon.
The chorus encourages taking heart, saying that this is not the end, that patience draws out a blessing, and that the God who is being waited on is there. The second verse says that the thoughts of God are not like human thoughts and that where people end He begins, calling Him a comforter and a faithful God. The themes follow Habakkuk 2:3 on the vision awaiting its appointed time, Isaiah 55:8-9 on higher thoughts, and Psalm 27:14 on waiting for the Lord. The gentle repetition gives the song a patient, comforting tone.
