Meaning & Inspiration
“The Call” by Minister GUC is a worship chant about a people raised up from every direction. The verse says there is “a people rising,” unassuming, with nations calling forth. The chorus names the directions, east, west, north, and south, and says these are the ones who “would lift his name high,” and one line calls them “Yahweh’s delight.”
The scattered gathering from four directions is close to Isaiah 43:5-6, where God brings his sons from the east, west, north, and south, and to Luke 13:29, where people come from all four points to sit at the table of the kingdom. The picture of a people who lift his name high echoes Psalm 34:3.
