Na akoiga akorwo ari na thiri
Ninguriha ithenya ini riake

Na wina mubango mwega
Ninjui niunyenda naniunumbuyagia

Ngona kiambiriria ona kiriko
Ngahoya kuhana tawe

Meaning & Inspiration

“Bicha” reflects on Jesus by inviting contemplation of his story and character. The recurring image of reading that story and examining his picture presents discipleship as a desire to resemble Christ. Its verses point to divine love and a good purpose, then turn toward Christs humility: he leaves the Fathers greatness and is born in a lowly place. This language closely recalls Philippians 2:6–8, where Christ humbles himself and takes the form of a servant.

The song also remembers Jesus raising the dead, performing signs, and facing death like a sacrificial lamb. These scenes build toward direct praise of Jesus as good, gracious, and merciful. The closing confession calls him the Savior of the singers life and describes his love as beyond measure. Rather than treating Christs story as distant history, the repeated prayer to become like him makes imitation the songs central response. “Bicha” therefore joins remembrance, gratitude, and spiritual formation in a worshipful meditation on Christs life and saving love.
