Lyrics

Heaven, Heaven on Earth!
Oh, oh, oh,oh!
Heaven, Heaven on Earth!
The spirit of the Lord is upon me,
His anointing is empowering,
The kingdom of the Lord is within me,
And He's calling me to the Heavenlies.

Chorus:
To be seated in heavenly Places,
Just like Heaven,
Just like Heaven on Earth!
To be walking in His favor and grace is
Just like Heaven,
Just like Heaven on Earth!
Oh, oh, oh,oh!
Heaven, Heaven on Earth!
Oh, oh, oh,oh!
Heaven!

Marching in the spirit of unity,
To our community show His ability,
The will of the Lord for His children
Is to demonstrate, perpetuate

Chorus:
To be seated in heavenly Places,
Just like Heaven,
Just like Heaven on Earth!
To be walking in His favor and grace is
Just like Heaven,
Just like Heaven on Earth!

Oh, oh, oh,oh!
Heaven on Earth!
Oh, oh, oh,oh!
Heaven on Earth!

Listen!
Something's moving,
Something Changing,
See His glory feels like Heaven on Earth.
Something's moving,
Something's Changing,
See His glory feels like Heaven on Earth
Something's moving,
Something's Changing,
See His glory feels like Heaven on Earth.
Something's moving,
Something's Changing,
See His glory feels like Heaven on Earth

There is lightning and thunder,
Miracles and wonder,
Sound of many waters,
Heaven on Earth!

Meaning & Inspiration

I was listening to this today and got stuck on the line about the kingdom being within. It’s funny how we spend so much time looking up, or looking out, waiting for some big event to break the clouds, but Micah Stampley keeps pulling it back to this weird, internal reality. If the spirit of the Lord is actually here, in the mess of my own head, then "Heaven on Earth" stops being a place I'm waiting to go to and starts being this uncomfortable friction I have to live inside right now. It isn't just a mood; it's a claim on my everyday actions.

He talks about marching into the community to show His ability, and that’s where I get quiet. It’s easy to sing about miracles and thunder and the sound of many waters, but it’s a lot harder to let that become something that changes how I talk to people I can’t stand. We want the lightning and the wonder, but we don't always want the responsibility of being the ones who carry that weight into the grocery store or the office. It's like Paul said about being citizens of a different country, but half the time I’m just trying to survive the morning commute, let alone demonstrate and perpetuate anything divine.

Maybe the reason I struggle with these lyrics is because I’m so used to thinking of Heaven as a reward, something you get after you’ve finally put in enough hours. But then he sings about being seated in heavenly places, which sounds like something that’s already happened, even if I don’t feel like I’m sitting anywhere near a throne. I feel like I’m just standing in the dirt, trying to make sense of why things aren't changing faster, why the glory doesn't look like a clear sky every single day. I wonder if I’m just misreading the definition of glory, looking for comfort instead of the kind of power that actually breaks things open.
