Lyrics
Let this be a place where
You long to come
As we make a way
For Your love
Let these hands be clean
And this heart be pure
Blameless as the bride
You’re coming for
It’s the power
Of Your presence
That changes us
Your glory all around us
And we’re undone
You open up the heavens
And fall afresh on us
Let this be a house
Where You long to stay
Ever will You meet us
Face to face
Abandoned here before You
We want nothing else
Than just to be with You
And You alone
Holy Spirit, fill this heart again
Holy Spirit, burn like fire within

Meaning & Inspiration
“Fall Afresh” is a prayer for renewed fellowship with God through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Its opening asks for clean hands, a pure heart, and a community prepared for Christ, joining personal holiness with the biblical image of the awaiting bride. The chorus identifies God’s presence as the source of change and responds with surrender as heaven is invited to draw near.
The second movement widens the prayer from an individual heart to a house where God is welcomed and sought above every alternative. Face-to-face meeting, abandoned worship, and the laying down of competing desires all reinforce that focus. The closing appeal for the Holy Spirit to fill the heart and burn like fire recalls biblical scenes in which the Spirit is poured out and believers are freshly filled. Rather than emphasizing human effort, the song rests transformation in God’s nearness and asks for a community made pure, attentive, and wholly devoted.
