Oga Jesus is a praise song focused on the rule of Jesus and gratitude for his goodness. Its central title uses a familiar West African expression for the person in charge, presenting Jesus as Lord and King over the whole earth. The short declarations are direct, joyful, and suited to a gathered response, with repetition reinforcing the confession of his authority.
The verses connect that confession with testimony. The narrator tries to count the many things God has done but finds that one act of care follows another. Wonder at such love becomes the reason for continued singing and public praise.
