Joe Praize - Holy Ghost Lyrics
Lyrics
Ah, This is my season
This is my season
This is my time
You’ve given me victory
You are the sovereign one
I have your power
I am your vessel
You’ve given me victory
You are the sovereign one
Holy Ghost, Holy Ghost
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
Turning lives around
Changing destinies
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
I got joy in the Holy Ghost
I got joy in the Holy Ghost
joy in the Holy Ghost
This is my season
When you move (I move)
When you talk (I talk)
You are the (peace within)
I am one with the Spirit
This is my season
Every time is (your time)
Every day is (your day)
Your spirit is poured out
I’m one with the spirit
Precious Holy Spirit
Holy Ghost, Holy Ghost
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
Turning lives around
Changing destinies
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
I got joy in the Holy Ghost
I got joy in the Holy Ghost
I got joy in the Holy Ghost
This is my season
Holy Ghost , Holy Ghost
Holy Ghost , Holy Ghost Holy Ghost
The reason I’m singing
When you move (I move)
When you talk (I talk)
You are the (peace within)
I am one with the Spirit
This is my season
Holy Ghost, Holy Ghost
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
Turning lives around
Changing destinies
You’re here right now
I see you moving everywhere
Holy Ghost , Holy Ghost
Holy Ghost , Holy Ghost Holy Ghost
The reason I’m singing

Meaning & Inspiration
I was listening to the song and kept thinking about that line where he says "I am one with the Spirit." It stopped me for a second because Paul writes in Corinthians that he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him, and that’s a heavy, massive thing to even wrap your head around. It makes sense that if the Holy Ghost is actually dwelling inside a believer, then my own movements or words wouldn’t just be mine anymore. It feels like what the song is trying to get at—that surrender where you aren't doing your own thing, but following a lead.
But then I had to pause, because it’s easy to sing about "my season" and "my time" when life is moving in a way that feels like victory. The Bible talks a lot about the Holy Spirit as a comforter and a guide, especially when things aren't necessarily "my season." I wonder if we equate the presence of the Spirit too quickly with everything going right or turning around. The joy he sings about, that "joy in the Holy Ghost," that feels real to what I’ve read in Romans, where joy isn't about the circumstances but about the Kingdom of God itself.
Still, I keep wrestling with how much we focus on the power and the movement and the change, versus the quiet, sometimes painful refining work of the Spirit. It’s definitely scriptural to talk about the Spirit turning lives around, but sometimes I worry we frame the Holy Ghost more like a catalyst for our own momentum rather than the One who leads us into the image of Christ, which is often a slower, humbler process. I’m not sure if the song captures that tension, or if it’s just focused on the excitement of the presence. Is the Spirit here because I’m having a good season, or is He here to keep me when the season turns into something else?
