Meaning & Inspiration
No Doubt is a worship song of testimony and trust in God's faithfulness. The first verse says that coming to know the Savior was the best decision the singer ever made, and that the closer one draws to Him through His word, the more confident the trust becomes. The second verse says that the singer has lived long enough never to see the righteous forsaken, and is a living testimony of a hope that does not put to shame.
The third verse echoes a line from Scripture: appearing needy yet making many rich, and looking as if there is nothing yet possessing everything. The pre-chorus promises to stand and be still and wait for what He will say, and the chorus marvels at God breaking protocol and breaking down walls to lift the singer out of the pit, with no doubt that He will do the rest.
