Hakuna hakuna hakuna
Hakuna usiloweza
Verse
Wewe ni Mungu wakuabudiwa
Milele yote wewe ni kiongozi
Uliwavusha wanaisraeli
Bahari ya shamu kwa uwezi wako
Maserafi makerubi wanasujudu mbele zako
wanazivua taji zao mbele zako wakisema
Niwewe wastahili heshima
Lazima tuimbe tulisifu jina lako

Meaning & Inspiration
“Hakuna Usiloweza” by Essence of Worship is a Swahili worship song whose title means “There is nothing You cannot do.” The opening refrain repeats “Hakuna, hakuna, hakuna usiloweza,” and the verse then gives reasons for that confidence. It calls God the One worthy of worship and forever the guide of His people.
The verse recalls the crossing of the Red Sea, when God brought the Israelites through by His power, as told in Exodus 14:21-22. It then moves to heaven, where the seraphim and cherubim bow before Him and take off their crowns, saying He is worthy of honor. That image is close to Revelation 4:10-11.
The verse ends with a call to sing and praise His name, and the refrain returns, now ending with “Yesu.” The central claim is close to Jeremiah 32:27, where the Lord asks whether anything is too hard for Him. The lyric is short and built for congregational repetition, with the past rescue and heavenly worship offered as reasons to trust.
