Meaning & Inspiration
“Akhekho Ofana No Jesu” (There Is No One Like Jesus) is a live Donnie McClurkin recording built on a short Zulu declaration. The chorus repeats “Akekho ofana no Jesu” and “Akekho ofana naye,” and the translation section states it plainly: there is no one like Jesus, repeated three times.
The second chorus is a chant of verbs, “Siyahamba,” “Siyajika,” and “Siyafuna,” each answered by “akekho,” followed by “Akekho afana naye.” The lead and ensemble response give the performance a communal, call-and-response character.
The theme is close to Isaiah 46:9, where God says there is none like Him, and to Philippians 2:9-10 on the name above every name. Acts 4:12 also fits the claim that salvation is found in no one else. The song is simple and repeated, and its message is the uniqueness of Christ, stated in a form a congregation can sing back.
