Meaning & Inspiration
“Idinma” by Judikay is a praise song in English and Igbo, with English glosses written beside the Igbo lines. The title line says, “You’re good, you’re big,” and the refrain calls God the doer of good things who is beautiful in truth. Other names include Glorious God, the bright and morning star, and the one who walked on water.
The verse begins with testimony: the singer’s eyes have seen and ears have heard of mighty deeds and a powerful show of love. God is called a good shepherd and a good father, and the singer joins the angels in loud praise. A melody in the heart brings overflowing joy and praise.
The last section is personal, saying that God is loved because He first loved the singer, and that He is the reason to live. It looks ahead to seeing Him face to face. The themes are close to Psalm 23:1, John 10:11 and 1 Corinthians 13:12, and the song is warm, repeated and joyful.
